(please see our small picture gallery). Firstly, I wish to especially thank Mrs Beatson & Miss Durrant for leading our amazing Christmas Carol Concert within Sherborne Abbey. It was a magical evening that was greatly supported by our families and friends. Thank you to Mrs Maskew & Mrs Rose and all the staff in the Reception classes for their hard work in making the nativity performance of ‘The Bossy King!’ a success. Our Reception children were fantastic! I would also like to thank Mrs Clarke and our fantastic school choir who performed at many events during the holiday season including West Abbey Care Home in Yeovil and The Christmas Tree Festival within the Methodist Church, Sherborne. Mrs Clarke and our Choir, also hosted a charity concert within our school hall for the ‘Well Child’ Charity, raising a staggering £282! Supporting charities was an important part of Christmas within our school. Our School Council, led by Mrs Maskew, organised Christmas Hampers for the excellent local charity - Sherborne Food Bank. The School Council also raised an amazing £432 for Children In Need. We also supported Julia’s House Children’s Hospice Charity with kind donations after our Christmas Carol Service with the Abbey which total £175 (with an additional £175 going towards new books for school). In addition, we raised £199 for Save The Children from our Christmas Jumper Day. We would like to say a huge thank you as none of the above would be possible without the support and generosity of our parents and carers. Finally our Year 6 Choir performed in Christmas Concerts to The Hayes Residential Home, Abbey View Care Home & The Sheilings.
