Friday 24th April Can you use your story map of the ‘Billy Goats Gruff’ to write a few sentences from the story. You may choose to write about your favourite part or write some speech bubbles. Remember to read your writing out loud to check it makes sense.

Parents if you have time you could write out the whole story as your child tells it. This helps your child to really understand the link between spoken and written words. Then over the next few days your child can have a go at reading their story.

Phonics The words trip and trap have 4 phonemes and therefore 4 sound buttons e.g. trap These are ccvc (consonant, consonant, vowel, consonant words) and are phase 4 of the phonics we teach, if you wanted to google phase 4 or ccvc phonics games/activities. ‘Tr’ is not a digraph because ‘tr’ is two individual sounds/phonemes ‘t’ and ‘r’.

Can you sound out and then read the whole words on the next few slides? Use⇣ for further practise https://central.espresso.co.uk/espresso/primary_uk/subject/module/activity/item812460/gradef/module63423/index.html
