TROUBLE IN PARADISE Discard tropical blooms and birds of paradise for a foliage focus, layering lush banana leaves into a playful Caribbean pattern. Densely packed banana leaf repeats feel new compared with the symmetrical compositions of past seasons, and provide a fun tropical camouflage for S/S 18. The natural mineral trend, metallic and eroded effects evolve. Rusted and oxidized finishes create a natural element to metallic finishing. Copper, pewter, bronze and tin take over from silver and gold with chipped, cracked and burnished surfaces.

THE RUM DIARY The rum, cigar and coffee flavors of Cuba inspire warm tones that range from tobacco to natural amber and honey hues. Texture and hand remain important for S/S 18 with burnished and worn leather and suede looks. Natural vintage sheens create textural interest, along with degraded, destroyed looks, which imitate that burnt effect of cigar ash and coffee dust. Tortoiseshell remains as timeless as the nostalgic architecture and automobiles of Cuba. Rich, creamy colorways replicate the effect of a smooth cup of coffee and intense yellow and orange flecks offer a bold rum influence.

OUR MAN IN HAVANA I spy floral camouflage seamlessly mixing the utilitarian and the retro for a tropical punch. An updated floral version of camouflage draws upon the island vibe of Cuba and the political leanings of the island nation as well.
