Editor’s Ne
P
ublishing, like photography, will always be at my core. I want to truly capture the beauty of travel in its most natural sense with some of the world’s most beautiful people.
and is aimed at men and women between defined by their attitude, not age. We think of art and beauty as a defiant mindset that pushes beyond conventions in our increasingly cynical and ugly world. We want the approach to photography to come from a visceral emotion.
My goal is to redefine the notion of beauty and travel today. Beauty is among the most subjective, abstract concepts out there even in our saturated world of media. True artists want to capture the fluidity of the moment. Art has that duty of turning the confusion, complexity, and uncertainty of life into something beautiful and lasting — something that I think the world needs more of. Consumers are looking for this as they have had enough of the hyper-filtered world of Instagram. They want to feel art and travel in a way that they haven’t been able to do so.
I select people that are dedicated and have great passion to pursue their goals. A lot of people believe that success can happen overnight, but it takes a lot of hard work. By continuously investing in yourself, you elevate your career. If you take the right steps, opportunities arise, but you have to be willing to master your individual craft. For this reason, I prefer to work with people that share my vision for the future of art, beauty, and travel. My mission is to support up-and-coming talent on a global scale to create the next level of high-quality content.
Influent Traveler is for those who appreciate the tactile experience of paper. A book-style, mainstream lifestyle magazine delivering innovative content for the smart and savvy connoisseur. Characterized by a modern beauty aesthetic and a cheeky tone, the bimonthly title includes content across glamour, art, and luxury
Influent Magazine has shaken up the world of publication giving its viewer exactly what they are looking for, travel and beauty at its finest. They will no doubt continue to thrive and create even more amazing work in the future.

SCENERY With over 8333km of coastline bordering four different seas and embroidered with countless coves, inlets, bays and crystal blue beaches, Türkiye is a paradise for yachtsmen and tourists looking for an adventure or for just relaxing. Türkiye is a country of mountains, offering nature reserves and areas suitable for those seeking to connect with nature, explore the rich flora and fauna or practice an outdoor activity.
A SURREAL LANDSCAPE CARVED BY NATURE AND MEN. The ‘fairy chimney’ rock formations, located in the Nevşehir province of Central Anatolia, is a spectacular landscape entirely sculpted by erosion. Later, it was dwelled into by men to build underground cities, remains of human habitation dating back to the 4th century. The Dark Church in Göreme, whose walls are covered with intricate scenes from the New Testament is a beautiful example of how well some of these vestiges have been preserved. Others have been converted into boutique hotels. Enjoy a thrilling hot air balloon flight and gaze down upon this UNESCO World Heritage Site that displays a harmonious combination of natural and cultural landscape elements.

CONRAD
BORA BORA NUI Privacy has always been a luxury, which is why the location of the five-star Conrad Bora Bora Nui is so unique. Unlike other resorts that are on the other side of the lagoon facing Mt Otemanu, one of two extinct volcano, and quite near each other, the Conrad Bora Bora Nui is nestled in a private cove on Motu To’opua, an atoll opposite the main island of Bora Bora, on its own little Motu with Mt Otemanu behind it. It’s also the only property in Bora Bora built with a hill behind the hotel so the views are
unique and expansive, especially from the hilltop spa. Due to a larger amount of coral on his side of the lagoon, the sea is several different shades of blue and it is said to have the best snorkeling. The Conrad Bora Bora Nui offers luxury with a layout and design complimenting the extraordinary beauty of it's exotic setting. The owner takes a personal interest in Nui and has put her impeccable taste into action, in both the interior decorating and the grounds, resulting in a seamless presentation.

SAMURAI Myþ, Wip d Cture
A Japan Art Exhibition
They were warriors, whose name never cease to fascinate. The samurai have disappeared from Japan, yet the stories of their martial skills and lifestyle still echo to this day. Fortunately, remnants of their exploits have found their way to Meurthe-et-Moselle in eastern France. The Prémontrés Abbey, in the small town of Pont-à-Mousson, is holding the ‘Samurai: Myth, Worship and Culture’ exhibition from May 21 to October 16, 2022. Immerse yourself in the history of Japan and discover a rich collection of over 250 pieces spanning a period of eight centuries.
42
A passionate martial artist himself, Gregg Riffi, has been collecting these unique objects for years. Very early on, the practice of martial arts led him to take an interest in Japanese weapons and armors. Through these objects, he wished to better understand the soul of feudal Japan. Today, he is a specialist in Japanese art and has built up a highly respected collection that he loves sharing with visitors from around the world.
43
44
exhibition
Natasha Miclot, head of communication and development at the Prémontrés abbey, sums up the desire of the exhibition, "It is indeed a question of retracing the history of the samurai. To start from their origin and to see all that is attached around the spirituality of the samurai and their code of honor"
45
46
exhibition
Gregg Riffi has a particular interest in pieces made with the repoussé technique, metalworking technique in which a malleable metal is shaped by hammering from the reverse side to create a design in low relief, which makes them very recognizable and unique. The collection focuses mainly on the equipment of the Samurai, with over 25 full traditional suits of armor, many masks, helmets and katana, but also an assortment of related objects, such as those used during tea ceremonies, as well as paintings and statuettes.

THE FLAVORS OF
TURKISH CUISINE
Colorful and rich, the Turkish cuisine is one of the most varied in the world, deriving influence from its history and culture and continuously evolving over the centuries.
Turkey is a crossroads between Europe, Asia, and the Orient. This unique location combined with the migration of Turks from Central Asia to Europe has shaped the identity of its gastronomy over the centuries. In addition to being the refined product of centuries of experience, the Turkish Cuisine has a very pure quality. Being highly seasonal, the dishes are inherently healthy, made of the freshest products available throughout the country. The variety and simplicity of the recipes and the quality of the ingredients guarantees a delicious culinary experience.
each of its regions, shaped by the great diversity of fauna and flora particular to that specific area. Anatolian and South East of Turkey’s Cuisine, for example, is known for its kebabs as a result of its abundant livestock, the Aegean region, known for its olive production, is famous for its delicious olive oil vegetable dishes and herbs, while pastries are the monopoly of Thrace. The cuisine of the Black Sea is heavily based on sea products and finds its influence in the Balkans and Slavic cuisines.
The complexity of Turkish cuisine comes from the wide array of tastes in

gastronomy
MEZES Mezes are “Hors d'oeuvres” or appetizers figuring mainly at meals accompanied by wine or raki. The word “meze” derives from the Persian word “maza” meaning “taste”. Eaten sparingly, they are not there to full you up, but rather arouse your appetite for the proper meal while enjoying your rakı. They are a way of life around the table, allowing you to enjoy spending long hours in the company of loved ones. Examples of meze include gozleme, fried aubergines with yogurt, lakerda, pastirma, kisir, fish croquettes.
DESSERTS Turkish sweets are famous throughout the world. Many of these have milk as the basic ingredient such as Sütlaç, Tavuk gögsü, Helva, Kazandibi, Asure, meanwhile the best-known Turkish dessert is Baklava.
DRINKS Turkish coffee (türk kahvesi) is different from traditional coffee because the marc is present in the cup, it comes thick and dark in a small cup while Turkish tea (çay) is most of the time black tea, drunk in a small glass. In Turkey, tea is a real institution, it is a sign of hospitality. It is served when you visit people, and often offered at the end of a meal, but is also drunk at any time of the day. Turkish tea and coffee being well known, other national drinks such as ayran, shira, salgam, sahlep and boza are worth to be mentioned. If you like alcohol you can try Rakı, the national drink made of twice-distilled grapes and anise, or a nice glass of wine. There are 600 to 1200 different grape varieties in Türkiye. The leading vineyard regions are the coastline of the Marmara Sea, Cappadocia in Central Anatolia, Aegean Region and eastern provinces like Elazığ and Diyarbakır.

RIVA 110' Dolcevita Majestic like the work of art she is, as scintillating as the most magical epoch in modern history, 110' Dolcevita is Riva’s new fibreglass flagship, the latest masterpiece to grace the revamped flybridge fleet. This majestic flybridge, over 33.5 metres in length, is the result of a collaboration between Officina Italiana Design, the studio founded by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta that exclusively designs the entire Riva fleet, the Ferretti Group’s Strategic Product Committee, chaired by Piero Ferrari, and the Engineering Department. “‘Dolcevita’ indicates a period and a style that could only be associated with a yacht of
unrivaled beauty, one whose appeal will resonate in the yachting world for decades to come,” commented Alberto Galassi, Ferretti Group CEO. “We chose Monte Carlo for its debut, because this is one of the most ‘Dolcevita’ locations in the world, and the Grand Prix Historique, which is an event where legends meet. ‘Dolcevita’ conjures up a dream world that the Riva 110’, in all its splendor, personifies to perfection. It pays tribute to a wonderfully carefree period of history, brought back to life in a magnificent vessel that is the perfect synthesis of the traditional and the modern.”
69
luxury Beautifully executed, with a high level of detailing, the Dolcevita’s interior might be avowedly classic modernist in concept, but it’s far from minimalist in execution, you will undeniably find yourself surrounded by quality and luxury. Characterized by a combination of aesthetic rigor and sportiness, the boat develops on three bridges, plus a pilot house. The main deck, in addition to the huge living room and dining room, houses the very private owner’s suite in the bow section. The floor-to-ceiling windows that extend the entire length of the saloon are made of glass panes framed by a steel structure: a true crystal palace on the sea. Below, the central area of the deck is symmetrically divided into four double cabins with en-suites, while the bow area is entirely dedicated to the crew’s quarters.
70
Logical and straightforward, it is also a radical piece of asymmetric thinking that makes getting through and around the yacht easy and effective for guests and crew alike. Being on a 33.5-meter boat, the flybridge is a roof terrace where you will find the long bar counter, the dinette, and a vast solarium in the back. And with the forward seating and the aft sunbathing areas connected on one level, it effectively creates a single, giant, on-deck entertaining space. For a fast motoryacht of this size, there is only one pair of engines that can do the job, the 2,368-hp V16s, which sit at the pinnacle of MTU’s compact and powerful 2000 series. Mounted flat in a spacious, bright and well-organized engine room with 6 feet, 10 inches of headroom, they drive straight shafts and have just one job: to propel the Dolcevita’s 120-ton mass toward its advertised 26-knot top speed.

NOBU HOTEL
LOS CABOS
Photos by Florent Carmin ©nobuhotelloscabos
Indisputably one of the most stylish resorts in Baja California, the latest addition to the Nobu Hotels opened in November of 2019 and is the first property in Mexico from the rapidly expanding dining and hospitality empire helmed by Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Academy Award-winning actor Robert DeNiro and Hollywood producer Meir Teper. Sitting atop a wide-open beach overlooking the Pacific Ocean from the southernmost tip of the Baja Peninsula, the Nobu Los Cabos is located about seven miles west of the famous El Arco landmark, within the Diamante development, a gated community of luxury homes surrounded by two golf courses and is one of the only two resorts on the 1.5-mile coastline. The region’s remote location provides a real sense of tranquility and serenity.
The luxury resort is the vision of lead architects, Monica Cuervo and Mark Yoshizaki of WATG coming to life. With design nothing short of divine, each of the 200 guest rooms and suites have ocean and resort views and the interiors, public spaces and restaurants handled by Severine Tatangelo of Studio PCH, manage to seamlessly blend contemporary Japanese minimalism with locallysourced natural, Mexican materials and finishes. Drawing design inspiration from the sophisticated palette that alludes to the Japanese aesthetic of the Nobu brand, as well as the unique elements of Cabo San Lucas, Nobu Hotel Los Cabos is the perfect fusion of architectural elegance and laidback luxury, bringing together the Japanese concept of harmony and the white sandy beaches and cacti of Cabo San Lucas.
77
Hotel
THE HOTEL Although the hotel's accommodations comprise 103 suites and 97 standard rooms, careful planning has prevented it from feeling like one of these mega resorts. Upon arrival, sleek minimalist lines frame the Zen-inspired entrance and open to a stunning ocean view. While the ocean in front of the hotel isn't safe for swimming, there are four pool areas that guests can choose from : The Cortez pool has the most energetic atmosphere, with open cabanas, submerged lounge chairs and an easy access to the Playabar ; the Pacific pool offers more privacy, with many smaller pools shrouded in green foliage and enclosed cabanas ; the Cortez Swim-up bar pool and the infinity pool in front of the Nobu restaurant. Certain categories of rooms and suites offer private plunge pools.
ROOMS AND SUITES The hotel’s tranquil design extends into the guest rooms, where Japanese minimalism is paired with locallysourced wooden accents and Mexican art. The laid-back Cabo sense of style comes through in the use of color, textures, and geometric design elements. The Japanese influence is seen in the use of wood joinery techniques to create the Onsen-style soaking tubs that add a spa-like quality to the bathrooms; the table lights meant to resemble Japanese lanterns; the shoji screeninspired closet doors and the furnished balconies.
78
WELLNESS When it comes to wellness, the 13,700 square feet Esencia Wellness spa boasts an extensive list of treatments, both indoor hydrotherapy areas and an outdoor hydrotherapy garden and a cabana Jacuzzi. Using Natura Bissé products, the spa invites guests to relax and unwind in utterly soothing surroundings. There is also a fitness center including a full range of gym equipment and an indoor/outdoor area for yoga and spinning.
EVENTS For meetings and events, the property has 14,389 square feet of flexible space spanning 11 venues, including two ballrooms, one boardroom, one prefunction space, one outdoor terrace and two outdoor lawns.

THE DINING EXPERIENCE No detail is overlooked when it comes to the food, which isn't a surprise considering Matsuhisa is at the helm. Restaurants and bars are spread all over the resort. The signature Nobu Restaurant, with a 180º sunset view of the ocean, serves regionallyinfluenced specialty dishes alongside Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s classics, with both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a bar and a 10-person dining room for private events. While the Nobu restaurant is the crown jewel of the resort, Japanese food is certainly not the only option here. For a more traditional option there is Pacific Restaurant, a fine dining Mexican concept, a Nobu Café lobby bar the Playabar, both offering light bites and craft cocktails, and Mexico’s only outpost of the highly popular Los Angeles restaurant, Malibu Farm, with fresh, organic, and sustainably-sourced farm-to-table cuisine.

BOND
IN MOTION THE LARGEST OFFICIAL BOND VEHICLE EXHIBIT IN THE UNITED STATES
Produced in collaboration with EON Productions and The Ian Fleming® Foundation, Bond in Motion is the first official exhibition in the United States to feature original vehicles from the James Bond film franchise. The exhibit is open now through October 23, 2022 in he Mullin Grand Salon and celebrates the 60th anniversary of the 007 films, since Dr. No was released in 1962. With the publication of his first spy novel, Casino Royale (1953), author and former naval intelligence officer Ian Fleming introduced the world to the enchanting exploits of James Bond, a British officer in the Secret Intelligence Service, also known as MI6. In all, Fleming would produce twelve novels and two short stories, laying the foundation for what would become a global literary and cinematic legacy.
Much like the novels on which they are based, Bond films combine the adventure of exotic locations and scheming villains with the action of death-defying stunts, and heart-pounding chases in nearly every type of vehicle imaginable. Often modified by quartermaster “Q,” these vehicles, much like Bond himself, conceal their true nature until their weapons and gadgetry become important plot devices. The Bond in Motion exhibit offers visitors a rare up-close experience of the most iconic vehicles associated with the world’s most famous secret agent, 007.
Beginning in 1962, with the movie adaptation of Fleming’s sixth title, Dr. No, the exciting and dangerous world of James Bond was translated to screen, setting the tone for Bond films to come.
1964 ASTON MARTIN DB5 Used in GoldenEye (1995), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015), and No Time To Die (2021)

PATEK PHILIPPE 5470P A CONDENSATE OF MECHANICAL ACHIEVEMENTS With its high-frequency movement (5 Hz) incorporating all the “Patek Philippe Advanced Research” innovations in the field of Silinvar® and its patented display ensuring fast and accurate 1/10th of a second reading, the Ref. 5470P-001 demonstrates Patek Philippe competence and innovative spirit in the field of short-time measurement.
AESTHETIC
A movement dedicated entirely to performance and shorttime measurements needs to be well protected so Patek Philippe created an inimitably sporty exterior. The elegant blue of the dial harmonizes exceptionally well with the shimmering reflections of the platinum case. The navy blue calfskin strap with an embossed fabric pattern and red decorative seams in perfect harmony with the colors of the dial. The sapphire-crystal case back (interchangeable with the solid platinum back delivered with the watch) affords a spectacular view of the caliber CH 29-535 PS 1/10 with its filigreed components and the elaborately executed finissage.

THE FIRST EVER PATEK PHILIPPE WRIST-CHRONOGRAPH MEASURING 1/10TH OF A SECOND To further push the boundaries of mechanical horology, the engineers relied on the caliber CH 29-535 PS – with a traditional architecture (manually wound, columnwheel control, horizontal wheel clutch) – and increased its frequency from 4 to 5Hz (36,000 semi-oscillations per hour for 10 jumps per second), allowing the measurement of tenths of a second.
FLUID AND PERFECTLY SYNCHRONIZED HAND MOVEMENTS As a sweep seconds hand alone would not be sufficient to display tenths of a second with an optimal legibility on the dial of a wristwatch, the designers resolved to provide the caliber CH 29-535 PS 1/10 with two independent and perfectly synchronized chronograph mechanisms, each of them driving a different central hand. The hand that performs a complete revolution per minute shows the stopped seconds in the traditional manner. The other hand (in red lacquered Silinvar®) performs one revolution per 12 seconds. Despite the high speed of rotation, this tenth-of-a-second hand moves fluidly without jumps or vibrations.
INNOVATION AT THE SERVICE OF PERFORMANCE AND PRECISION To handle the three challenges – efficiency, reliability, and rate accuracy – Patek Philippe decided to use, for the first time in its current collection, its Oscillomax® ensemble that had been developed by the “Patek Philippe Advanced Research” department. This high-tech regulator mechanism has three innovative components that rely on all advantages of the Silinvar® technology – it is based on a derivative of silicon with extraordinary physical and mechanical characteristics (lightweight, rugged, antimagnetic, etc.).
