ABSTRACT

Pandemic is the name of a jewelry collection created and inspired by the current crisis caused by the coronavirus.

The idea is to make some pieces with a touch of iron but also opening a door to hope, for when we observe this phenomenon in the distance we will see that even in periods of maximum adversity the human being is capable of bringing out the best in himself.

The project consists of three pieces: two of them on the catwalk, a necklace and a jewel mask and a brooch in a more traditional format with the idea that it can be reproduced in a limited edition.

The materials used for the project are very varied. From the traditional ones in jewelry, brass, silver, semi-precious stones, river pearls, etc. even more alternative ones such as cotton fabric, lurex thread, borosilicate glass and recycled plastics.

The techniques used in turn are those of traditional goldsmithing such as forming, folding, polished soldier and others even the most innovative ones such as the use of colored resins together with sewing and spinning works.

The result of the pieces aims to surprise the viewer as much for its typology as for the materials they support.

A collection that makes us reflect on the lifestyle we lead and the fragility of the system in which we live.
