Brief_ Open Doors is a Leeds based magazine, founded by Frances Phillis who studies fashion commincation in 3rd year at Leeds College of Art. The magazine is based on fashion, music, art and other creative feilds promoting and showcasing young talent. The brief was to create and brand the magazine with a hand rendred, edgy and engagnging style. The client wanted a logo, blog and front cover initially designed for the course of the brief with my design input on other proposed promotional elements which will be on-going until May,

Branding Features_ There are two variables of the logo, the top design is for when it is not being used behind a photographic background such as front covers. The top logo can be applied to web design and other parafenalia in the exact tone of purple that the client requested. The second variable of the logo is to be used on front covers, posters and other printed material that has a photographic background. The type is a hand renderd style to fit in with clients request and creates a personalised feel.

Developments_ The magazine design was influenced by the edgy and hand rendered style the client wanted, I decided to create a brush style logo to depict the hand rendered feel and to connote a sense of art and creativity. I also and included some photography from one of the featured artists for impact and synergy.

Promotional Video_ A collection of stills from the promotional video for the magazine, we commisioned two of featured artists to create a mural of the magazines name in their favourite graffiti place to engage other creatives and to advertise the magazines name. Again I proposed the aesthetic and colours for the video to ensure the brand was consistent throughout.

Blog_ I coded a 5 page blog for the client to upload content onto to keep her online audience engage in the latest news for the magazine, I kept to the branding guidlines and colour scheme that she wanted in order for the brand to look co-hesive and professional.
