Juan Carlos Mora
Wayfinding and a successful signage system are always needed to help communicate meaningful information for steady navigation. This system is both interior and exterior to help guide any visitors or anyone arriving for the first time to the building. “Signage and wayfinding are most commonly expressed in unified sign programs that informationally and visually knit together a site. A key objective in way finding is to enable each person to form a mental map of a site or environment. Chris Calori, Signage and Wayfinding Design

Current Situation
Factors within the implemented System •
The current system established lacks effective signage, and a wayfinding strategy that could successfully lead anyone to their destination within the building.
•
The current system relies on Similar signage throughout the building without proper indication of what campus occupies that location. This leads to confusion and no sign of awareness to what the room is used for.
•
The current system communicates no direction.
•
The Lack of direction will foreshadow aimless walking of visitors to areas of the building not neccesary by the visitor.
•
There is a lack of communication on key locations immediatly for a better navagation for temporary visitors.
•
Multiple signs, no clear hiearchy placed on all signs placed on a plane. Can be cost effective.
Juan Carlos Mora
The current situation presented on the interior of 4401 N Himes Avenue, Tampa Florida consists of a similar signage system despite housing two campuses at one time. Limitations are presented within the established wayfinding system, and signage as noted before. For each sign, specific messaging is displayed with additional additions depending on its location, and the rooms use. Materials used to communicate the signage range from plastic ,mate board, plastic, and vinyl stickers. The exterior building signage, and wayfinding is just as minimum if not incomplete for both schools. The available signage for South University is very limited with, partial communicating elements to show for South University. For the Art Institute of Tampa, there is no signage available. Materials used within signage for South University, range from metal and stone.

Strategy of Analysis
Demonstration Execution Calculation System
Juan Carlos Mora
In providing the analysis, documentation was noted for what is currently implemented within the building . A floor plan of the building and its exterior were developed to provide a blueprint. The blueprint helps provide a better understanding of what is present in the building with relation to the sign type list. The sign type list identifies types of signs, with a description of the its expressed materials. Another list develop in relation to the sign type list was the Message schedule. This provides the communicated information that each sign has. All three documented elements of the research are connected with providing the proper information for this analysis.

Suggested Proposal Performance
Juan Carlos Mora
In order to provide a well suggested wayfinding system that can control and guide any visitor, a unified strategy must be defined. Not only by color but also shapes within the wayfinding and signage system. In providing the best and correct alternative it is best to notice the brand of the Art Institute of Tampa, and its visitors. This will be marked as a intangable but also a tool to strengthen the wayfinding system.

Projected Situation
Refinment Situation Process
Juan Carlos Mora
The building witch onces provided for one schoolastic body, is now entirely addressed by the Art Institute of Tampa. This will allow for a larger improvement, and a more extensive wayfinding system. The Situation will be faced with a system based on 7 Different sign types that will be demonstrated within a exterior and interior spectrum. The main effort is to combine all signs by shapes, and colors.
Environmental Rebranding/Wayfinding System Analysis and Proposed Remedation
All signs will be made for easier navigation, when entering and exiting any part of the building that is now, housing AI Students. In order for this to properly be communicated, a model of each sign has been developed to test its effectiveness.

Proposed Wayfinding Solution
Expressed Wayfinding
In considering main objectives for the wayfinding it is important to comprehend its purpose. Wayfinding is the ability to lead and assist visitors within an area. The key element is to be able to communicate a mental map of the surrounding areas, and up coming turns. Maintaing clarity to all visitors is key.
The newly proposed system will be divided from an exterior and interior perspective within the campus. The expression of both as an arena for development is key to connecting both for the system. All this will be done to eliminate clutter and solve the issues of navigation for anyone in the building.

As the Ai Of tampa has key specific rooms apart from every classroom it is important to make all visitors, and fellow transitors within the building aware of these rooms. To properly communicate this overhead flag signs will be availble in close proximity to to each rooms door. Attached in similar fashion as in the monument, and classroom signage will be a circular shape to express a symbol to connect with the designated area. This use of symbol both facilitates the search for that room, and gives the room more importance, enough to make a symbol associated with it.

Proposed Sign Types
As the Art Institute of Tampa is a school for developing and rising artists, a more motivated attitude is needed to affect the students. Colors could affect the performance for a more colorful, and ethusiastic feel ,but that would go against the structure of the Art Institute. A more simple, moving, and inovated feel is need to grasp the look and feel of how the Art Institute of Tampa perfoms. Using a flow of lines within all hallways to connect with signage will provided a sense of follow to every direction the flowing design take you.
Exterior Solutions Interior
The use of the lines, enforces students to move forward, and follows to connect the entire school with itself. Using vast amounts of color within the environment could allow for a different taste, but using brand colors and keeping them consistant with the wayfinding connects everything closer.

Impact to Current Situation
Equity Redesign Reinforcement
Juan Carlos Mora
Upon the completion and implementation of the new wayfinding system, a stronger feel will be felt within the corridors and hallways of the Art Institute of Tampa. The building will feel impacted as well as the transit for students and visitors from location to location. To ensure the success a implemented red vinyl will be placed in the on all plains in the building to help reinforce all aspeacts of the new signage system.
Environmental Rebranding/Wayfinding System Analysis and Proposed Remedation
The expansion of the brand within the building will provide more enthusiasm to all the staff, and present a better appreance to the school. A well presented design school with bare walls could never cause impact. With the suggested design for the environment, continuity and a strong image will all be hand in hand to provide the ideal wayfinding strategy that will not only provide for visitors but another factor of professionalism, and Art Institute pride.

Significant EGD Conclusion
Juan Carlos Mora
Proposing the best wayfinding strategy involves understanding there was an issue. To that issue there is the design. To that design, is the solution. Opening design and Wayfinding within one building all cover, Signage, placemaking, and the interpretive value of the signage. Creating a distinct image for a site, begins with the intangables.
