WHAT IS drifting? Drifting is 100% Action! With a background from rally and japanese mountain roads, drifting has now become one of the worlds fastest growing motorsports. Drifting is all about controlling a car that is out of control - preferably with full throttle and maximum angle. Its about making the most spectacular show possible. Drifting creates a lasting impression on the spectators and fans Drifting in the form of competition is setup as a torunament. Drivers go at it in pairs with three judges as well as the crowd decides which driver is going to advance and at the end you have your winner. This requires extreme car control as the car is being manoeuvred sideways at speeds up to 200km/h - especially when your goal is to stay just a few centimetres next to your opponent. Joachim Waagaard One of the most profiled individuals in the drifting and Gatebil community here in Norway, with numerous features in magazines and on the world wide web. He is one of the top drivers in Norway with valuable experience as a mechanic for Fredric Aasbø in USA, Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Europe Joachim Waagaard has a large fanbase with over 17 000 followers on Facebook and Instagram In 2013 and 2014 he competed in Europe’s toughest drifting series. Extreme Drift Allstars and Gatebil. This summers highlight was Gatebil at Rudskogen in July with over 50 000 visitors. Overall over 80 000 people visited Gatebil in 2014.
Verdens første From 2015 we are gonna use a new and exciting car, the brand new BMW 4-series. This will be the first BMW 4-series to be built for drifting on a world wide basis. This is a project that is guaranteed to withdraw lots of attention both nationally and internationally. The goal for 2015 will be to win the World Powersliding competition at Gatebil and make an impact in Extreme Drift Allstars. This season will be spent developing the car and its potential. The goal in the long run will be to compete in Formula Drift USA. In 2015 Joachim Waagaard will star in a brand new tv show on TV2, Norway’s biggest commercial tv channel. They will follow Joachim and his brand new GS Bildeler BMW 4-series’ road to the Powersliding World Championship in July 2015 covering everything from planning to building and racing.
There will be produced a total of 8-10 episodes of 30 minutes that will be broadcasted this fall on Tv2, as well as 20 10 minute web episodes that will be published on Tv2’s new web tv feature.

During all of the Gatebil and Drift Allstars events very popular videos gets produced where Joachim is often to be seen. TV2.no, for the TV channel’s new web features it will be produced 20 ten minute episodes where Joachim will be recognised as the face of sport.
