WHAT IS DRIFTING? Drifting is 100% Action! Inspired by rally racing and born on the mountain roads of Japan, drifting is the art and motorsport of sliding a car around a set of course maintaining maximum speed and angel. The main focus is the overall impression; what total impact can drivers create for both fans and judges?
32 driver meet head to head, and they battle in pairs til one driver stands victorious. Getting close as possible to the opponent when traveling sideways at speeds close to 120 mph (200km/h) takes extreme skills. More importantly, the courage demonstrated provides for a show of pure excitement with an increasing fan base, making drifting the fastest growing motorsport in the world.

One of the best known drivers in both drifting- and Gatebilscene here in Norway, with a lot of features in magazines and online. He is a skilled driver and fabricator with tons of experience from being a mechanic for Fredric Aasbø in USA, Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Europe. Joachim Waagaard is a very enthusiastic person that never sees any barrier to large; he is a person who never gives up! In 2013 he competed in a lot of races including two Drift-Allstars events what has been known as probably Europe’s toughest drifting serie with drivers from all over Europe. There he qualified as one of the best Scandinavians in both races.. This summer’s highlight was Gatebil Rudskogen in July, with over 50 000 spectators and drivers from all around the globe. Totally over 80 000 people visited the Gatebil festivals in 2013. The goal for 2014 is to become the Norwegian drift champion and doing a great impact in the in Drift Allstars Europe. They carer goal is the compete in Formula Drift USA.
SPONSORSHIP? In 2014 he will be the main character in of the episodes of the famous Norwegian TV broadcast called “Normal Galskap” on NRK1. They will follow Joachim’s road to Gatebil Powerslide World Championship in July 2014. Over 600 000 viewers watched each episode last year, with a population of only 5 million people in Norway, that is quite impressive. The TV show will be broadcast in primetime late summer 2014. Joachim Waagaard Motorsport’s Mazda Rx7 is of Norway’s most well known and professional driftcars, crowned as the runner up «Årets Gatebil 2012», only beaten by the factory backed Toyota GT86X built by Fredric Aasbø. In 2013 the Rx7 got crowned the best looking car in the Norwegian Powerdrift Series. It’s equipped with a supercharged Corvette V8 engine, Nascar 4 speed transmission and rear end. With over 600 HP and extreme sound the car is a crowd favorite!
