Saturday, February 13 9:00AM - Church Current altar servers and anyone over the age of 9 interested in becoming a server are welcome.
Abstinence from meat is to be observed by all Catholics fourteen (14) years of age and older on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and all the Fridays of Lent.
Wedding Anniversary Mass
Fasting is to be observed by all Catholics who are eighteen (18) years of age but not yet fiftynine (59) years of age on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Those who are bound to fast may take only one full meal. Two smaller meals are permitted if necessary to maintain strength according to one’s needs, but eating solid foods between meals is not permitted. Catholics should not lightly excuse themselves from these prescribed Lenten penitential practices.
We will be honoring those who celebrated a milestone anniversary in 2015 next Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the 4:00PM Mass and presenting them with a Papal Blessing in honor of their marriage.
Annual Diocesan Appeal Today the Diocese of Alexandria Begins its 2016 Annual Diocesan Appeal. This is an opportunity for us to unite with all Catholics in the Diocese and the universal church to share our blessings and to show our concern for one another. The ADA lets us act together as a family and to support programs and services no single individual or parish can offer alone. Your gift is very important, regardless of size, and is vital to the success of the Appeal. Every registered household in the diocese will receive a letter and brochure from Bishop Herzog. Please take time to prayerfully consider what you are able to give in support of our diocesan Church.

The second reading from Saint Paul to the Romans is a favorite of those involved in the ministry of evangelization. There are no “secret” disciples of the Lord. Those who exercise good stewardship of their faith realize that publicly identifying themselves as followers of Christ has a cleansing effect on their lives. Openly confessing Christ makes them more conscious of how they live their daily lives. Are we content to privatize our faith or are we good stewards of a faith that we share, make public, and regularly identify as a life in Christ?
