WORLD MISSION SUNDAY

WE REMEMBER OUR BELOVED DEAD

What better way to celebrate World Mission Sunday and its mission to spread the Gospel to the ends of the earth, through financial support of the Propagation of Faith. Please support World Mission Sunday today, by giving generously to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith.

Located near the baptismal font is our parish’s Book of the Names of the Dead. You are invited to write the names of any deceased for which you would like us to pray during the month of November. They will be collectively included every weekend in the Prayers of the Faithful.

SHEPHERD CENTER FOOD DRIVE

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

Our parish is collecting nonperishable protein, e.g. canned tuna, canned meats, peanut butter, etc., for the Shepherd Center. A receptacle for this purpose is located in the narthex. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

HALLOWEEN CANDY DRIVE We are sponsoring a booth at the Annual Woodworth Halloween Event, October 31st. A receptacle is in the narthex for your donations of Halloween candy. We also need volunteers to help. Please call Diane Fuqua at 451-4363.

ALL SAINTS DAY Since All Saints Day, November 1st, (usually a Holy Day of Obligation) falls on a Saturday this year, the obligation is abrogated - which means the obligation to attend Mass is lifted. Cornbread dressing w/chicken is on sale for $20 and carrot soufflé for $15. This is a ONE TIME ONLY event. Orders must be received by November 3rd. Contact the parish office to order.

WELCOME DEACON PAT MCCUSKER This weekend Permanent Deacon Pat McCusker joins our ministry team. Some of his responsibilities will include RCIA, ministry to the homebound, sick and hospitalized. He will preach at all Masses, one weekend, every other month. He will be assisting at 2 Masses every weekend when he is not scheduled to preach. Please join me in welcoming Deacon Pat and his wife Sharon to our loving parish family. .

SACRAMENTS OF THE CHURCH Reconciliation/Confession 30 minutes before every weekend Mass for 15 minutes. Baptism Celebrated during any weekend Mass or on Sunday afternoons. Contact the church office to make arrangements. Holy Matrimony Contact the pastor at least six months in advance. Anointing of the Sick and Communion Calls Please call the office when a parishioner is confined at home, is in the hospital, or placed in a nursing home or hospice. Holy Communion is brought weekly to all shut-ins. Mass of Christian Burial All arrangements should be made directly with the funeral home who will then contact the pastor directly.
