Advent Scripture Study

C.I.A. (Christians in Action) is a new ministry being formed by our younger adults. This group is for anyone ages 20-45. Our first monthly gathering will be this Monday, November 14th at 6:30 p.m., in the home of Joshua and Jennifer Foote, 1450 Lake Dr., Woodworth. Everyone between the ages of 20-45 is invited and welcomed to join us. For more information, please call Rachel Patin at 318-625-5614.

A journey through the Infancy Narratives of Matthew and Luke will be presented on the four Thursdays of Advent, December 1-22. We will begin with a pot luck dinner at 5:30 p.m. in the church hall. The lessons will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We will be utilizing the Little Rock Scripture Studies program. This is a truly blessed way to begin the Advent season in preparation for the Season of Christ’s birth. Please email Fr. Paul if you plan to attend so that sufficient books may be ordered and available. Although there is no cost for the evenings, a voluntary $15 donation to cover the cost of materials is appreciated, but not necessary.

First Monday Supper Our current “workers” have done great work. Unfortunately, sometimes, unexpected obligations get in the way. Therefore, we need more parishioners to help with this ministry. The goal is for an “early crew” to cook the meal, and a “late crew” to serve and clean up. This way, the “early crew” won’t spend all day working in the kitchen. They should be able to leave when the “late crew” arrives. Additionally, volunteers are needed to deliver meals to three homebound households in our parish. In order for us to continue this traditional time of service, fellowship and good food, we need more of you to join us in this once-a-month ministry. Please contact Kathy at the parish office to volunteer.

From The Pastor A Lenten Parish Mission is scheduled for March 5-7, 2017. Our ministry team will be Dumb Ox Ministries from New Orleans. They’re on the net Please mark your calendars now to ensure your attendance and participation. This is a perfect opportunity to prepare for the Lenten season. More information will be forthcoming.
