WWWWWWW WELCOME TO FATHER CHARLIE RAY, who became our new associate pastor last week. Father Charlie was ordained to the Sacred Order of Priesthood just five weeks ago, on May 26. He grew up in Sts. Francis and Anne parish in Kolin and was a school teacher at Pineville Elementary before entering the seminary. Father Charlie did his deacon internship at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. We welcome him and his ministry to our parish family! – Father Dan WWWWWWW COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION: School will start next month and already some of the families in our local communities are wondering where the money will come from to buy new shoes and uniforms for fast growing children, and the long list of school supplies required by their children’s teachers. Each year the Our Lady of Prompt Succor community helps with school supplies. Each Sunday in July our Community Services Commission will have baskets in the sanctuary for you to place supplies for families in need of assistance. Please remember these less fortunate children as you walk by the school supply store displays and pick up some supplies for them. Examples are: wide ruled loose leaf paper, rulers, #2 pencils, washable markers, basic # 8 or #24 crayons, construction paper, glue sticks, colored pencils, etc. Thank you. – Susan Harrison, Chair ‘FORTNIGHT FOR FREEDOM’ MASS: We at OLPS will offer our 5:30 P.M. Mass this Monday, July 2 for the preservation of our religious freedom in connection with the U.S. Bishops’ “Fortnight for Freedom” initiative. The Bishops have called for the “Fortnight,” a 14-day period of prayer, education and action in support of religious freedom. It began last Thursday and runs through this Wednesday, July 4. This special period of prayer, study, catechesis and public action emphasizes both our Christian and American heritage of liberty. It is intended to be a great national campaign of teaching and witness for religious liberty. Log on to www.fortnight4freedom.org.

The AMS has no parishes from which to draw financial support and relies solely on donations. See the website for more information at http://www.milarch.org/faq. REGISTRATION FORMS for the men’s ACTS retreat Aug. 23-26 at Maryhill Renewal Center are available at the tables by the church doors. Registration deadline is Saturday, July 14.
