CONFIRMATION FOR OLPS high school juniors will be Sunday, Feb. 5 at 12:00 P.M. Please continue to pray for our 51 Confirmation candidates as they complete their preparation for this sacrament. – Father Dan WWWWWWW DEACON ORDINATIONS: Our diocese’s 15 candidates for the diaconate will be ordained on Saturdays, Feb. 4 and Feb. 11, at 10:00 A.M. at the Cathedral. Benny Broussard, Todd Marye and Michael Young of our parish will all be ordained on Feb. 4. A public reception will follow each ordination in Olinger Hall. – Father Dan THE ALTAR SOCIETY is accepting dues for 2012. Dues are $10 for seniors and $15 for all others. God Bless! – Wendy Carbo, President ABBEY YOUTH FESTIVAL: Register now for the Abbey Youth Festival to be held March 10 in St. Benedict, LA. Festival speakers include Mark Hart, Mother Adela, L’Angelus, and Archbishop Gregory Aymond, and the monks and seminarians of St. Joseph Abbey+Seminary College. Registration deadline is Feb. 24. The Abbey Youth Festival is designed to provide young people with an opportunity to experience a day of prayer and faith formation with an exposure to the Benedictine tradition. Its focus is evangelization and vocational discernment by means of liturgy, prayer, worship, music and education appropriate for Catholic young people. For more information, go to www.abbeyyouthfest.com. BISHOP HERZOG is in Rome this week for his Ad Limina Apostolorum (“To the Threshold of the Apostles”) visit to the Holy See. The appointments being kept by the Bishop in Rome fulfill his obligation of visiting the tombs of the Apostles Peter and Paul, of meeting with the Holy Father, and of offering an account of the diocese to the various offices in the Vatican. Please pray for the Bishop as represents us to Pope Benedict.

The Catholic Community across the nation will celebrate Catholic Schools through events and activities that embrace all aspects of providing a strong Catholic education; the church parish, the students, the parents, the local community and our nation. OLPS has planned a very active Catholic Schools Week for our students, parents and supporters.
