The Ladies Altar Society will meet immediately following clean up to cover any business that needs to be discussed. Silent Auction: By popular demand we are going to have a Silent Auction this year. We have sent out letters to Louisiana vendors to send samples of Louisiana products. If you would like to contribute a basket or item, we are asking for items that are Louisiana related. Examples—LSU baskets, hunting or fishing items, Louisiana recipes, pictures depicting Louisiana, etc. We may also need some items to complete baskets with samples that we receive from vendors. If you are interested in donating to Silent Auction, please contact Sylvia Hebert 446-5253. Thanks for any help you can give. Attention: In the past during the Event there hasn’t been anything for the children. This year during Event 2013, we will be having a children’s Carnival on Saturday June 1st after Mass. It will begin at 6:30 and end at 8:30. We need sponsors for the booths. We have all games, slides, food, etc. We just need families to man the booths, take up tickets, and supply the prizes (candy, small toys, etc.) Please call Donna Wade 613-5489 if you would like to help and make this fun for our children. ***Planning for Event 2013 is under way. We need Live Auction items. Anything we can get will be wonderful. Remember the Mystery Envelope in the back of the church. Mark styour calendars forst the weekend of Friday, May 31 , Saturday, June 1 and Sunday June 2nd. Any gardeners out there? There will be a Farmers Market. We need all the help we can get with getting items for the Live Auction. To be able to have a successful event takes a lot of extra help. There are many ways you can volunteer your time. All are welcome to join in. If there are any questions, please contact Jill Reynolds at 715-6000 or Robyn Carrington at 447-6007. T-shirts for the Event are in the back of the church. The point Jesus makes in the gospel is that he does not want our hearts and minds to be taken up with constant conflict, or to be in a state of argument with each other. Instead of controversy, Jesus says,” Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you …Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” In marriage and in every important relationship, there is plenty that we can be upset about, if we want to make that our priority- and many people do, which leads to alienation, anger, even divorce. In every church community, we can argue about abortion, or divorce, or women priests until the cows come home. These are vitally important topics about which to share our hearts. But Jesus is saying that our primary committed relationship is to God. Through Him our loyalty to bringing the peace of Christ to the world should be our focus. Jesus told us,” Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our dwelling with them.” Think about it. If the Trinity is dwelling with you, you can be sure you will not be preoccupied with negativity and arguments. You will be alive with new ways to bring that peace of God’s love to the needy and exhausted world. Listening in prayer is vitally important. But also listening to others’ stories and needs are what gives us a much larger vision of the world, and God’s activity within the world. Go in peace to love and serve our God. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Open their hearts to Your call to be the ears, eyes and voice of children and young people everywhere. Amen
