Institute of Art Public building/Urban design

Project: Institute of Art Location: Cracow, Poland Status: master diploma, individual Year: 2013 Supervisior: prof.zw.dr hab.inż.arch. Wojciech Buliński The urban area of my project is located in Cracow, in the old fiver port Zabłocie. This area is a part of the Podgórze district. In 2006, the district was considered a strategic area in the development of the city. Also program of revitalization and activation of the industrial zone of Zabłocie.

The Art Institute is a space for artistic activities, a place of contemplation, metaphysical experiences and creating a relationships between art and its recipient - the viewer. It is also a place of its creation, and sharing it. Intentionally scope and ultimate nature of the exposure remains undefined. It is a kind os signal to subsequent users.

My main purpose when designing the architecture of the building of the Institute was to create the shape of the object that alludes to the place where it is located that is the old river port , and attracts attention with its originality . Hence, a direct allusion to the form of an architecture of the ship.

Single-family House Housing

Project: Single-family House Location: suburbs of Cracow Status: bachelor diploma, individual Year: 2011/2012 Supervisior: prof.dr hab.inş.arch. Dariusz Kozłowski The project idea is based on creation single - family house composed of elementary solids. It is located on the periphery of Cracow on the imaginary plot. Important thing in the project was to open the house to the surrounding nature. Building on the plot is defined by the spatial module 1,2 x1,2 x 1,2m.

Conception of the section is based on rules of roominess, which give comfortable and uncollision functioning lodgers. This make room positive from the viewpoint of psyche and functionality for work and daily life. It is also important to combine the function of some rooms(living room and dining room) which gives a sense of unity of space and the effect of the optical zoom area.

In the basic bulding solid, the individual modules were excised, which is reflected in the function of the formed molds, which are both terraces and the elements of the house which creates him more interesting. Forms of cubic and rectangular are underlined. Symmetry was used on the facades.

Wisła Hotel Public building

Project: Wisła Hotel Location: Cracow, Polnad Status: academic project, individual Year: 2011 Supervisior: dr hab.inż.arch. Piotr Gajewski, prof.PK Project is located at Podgórska street in old Kazimierz district, near the Wisła river. The concept of urban design includes three plots adjacent to one another. Designed concept is a connection of three buildings into a single architectural composition. Theseare: Hotel, Centre of Dialogue between Cultures and Benetton Fashion Hose.

The hotel must meet a number of conditions to be able to operate efficiently and in order to meet the expectations of guests. The most important recuirements for users of the hotels are functional solution - space, comfort and convenience. It was necessary to pay attention to the rules of shaping urban and communication solutions, entrances.

The project compiles together two solids. Cuboid with a range of guest rooms and convenient communication which is closely associated with the purpose of the facility, contrasts with the ground floor of the bulding by the overhang on the east side of the facade reaching far away from the section of the ground floor.

04

Center of Art Public building

Project: Center of Art Location: Kastela, Croatia Status: academic project, individual Year: 2012/2013 Supervisior: dr hab.inĹź.arch. Piotr Gajewski, prof.PK The plot is located in Kasteli in Croatia and has direct access to the sea from the south. Mountains are located in the North. The great advantage of this location is direct contact with the shoreline.

The idea behind the proposed architecture was a combination of different planes of land and various forms of a single object. This assumption has been compiled together as two solids cut by a third one. There is a dialogue between two cuboids with roofs falling into opposite directions, and the walls are inclined at an angle relative to ground.

This architecture stands out against the background of mountains and adjacent objects attracting the attention by its monumentality. Thanks to the right location of the proposed facility on the plot and its surface, it was possible to appropriately distribute functions on the ground floor.

Multi-family housing

Housing/Commercial

Project: Multi-family housing Location: Cracow, Poland Status: academic project, individual Year: 2011 Supervisior: prof.dr hab.inż.arch. Dariusz Kozłowski Subject of this design is a project of multi-family housing, along with a service and recreation spaces, which is located in Kraków, away from the area of impact of historical architecture. Proposed complex is located on a large, undeveloped fencelessplot. From the south plot adjoins the main road that provides communication service.

The concept of projections is based on a grid of modules 1,2 x 1,2 x 1,2m. The opening of the building in the form of southbound windows is important for the wellbeing of the residents - longer exposure to light makes these spaces better received by the man’s mind.

The basic building block was cut to form individual modules creating undercuttings and analogously to them, draw backs with respect to the axis of symmetry of the base of the solid. Forms created in this way function as, among others terraces and balconies. Rhythm created by repetition of certain elements becomes visible.

Public Library Public building

Project: Public building Location: Dobczyce, Poland Status: academic project, individual Year: 2011 Supervisior: dr hab.inĹź.arch. Piotr Gajewski, prof.PK Design library is located in Dobczyce, one hour away from Cracow. Designed library, by its western wall partially touches building of a bank it is an extension of the existing buildings and the closure of the space along the street. This creates a feeling of infitration between old and new architecture.

The shape of the proposed library building is a curved rectangular. Its simple form is diversified by cutouts and overhang of two floors. An interesting effect visible on the facades was obtained through large oblong windows passing through two storeys. On the ground floor there are huge glazings that add to the building an interesting and modern look.

Glass panels of this size also have a posotive influence on the interior of the building, which is well lit and seem to be more spacious. Additionally there is skylight degned in the project, and it extends along the antire lenght of the building.

07

Country House and Horse stable

Project: Country House and horse stable Location: Giebułtów, Poland Status: academic project, individual Year: 2011 Supervisior: dr hab.inż.arch. Marek Kowicki, prof.PK Idea of the project is based on connection and creates dialogue between family house for 3 generation and horse stable. The most important task on this project wad to find a balance between the traditional architecture in Giebułtów and more modern form of architecture.

This forced me to use suitable building height, conventional roofing angels and natural materials. The family house is a 2 storey building with the day living areas on the ground floor as well as the part ot the house dedicated to the grandparents. The 2nd floor includes parents bedrooms as well as 2 rooms for children and also 2 bathrooms.

The horse stable and garage for 2 cars are attached to the house through a roof. Interesting features fit the modern character of the proposed house and are protruding windows and terraces finished with a reinforced concrete lining. Ground floor is encased in stone, 2nd floor is made of planks.
