Design Studio 1 | Biomimicry Project Stimuli: Cardamom Spice Project Brief: To design a Pavilion Derived from a Cardamom, the concept of this pavilion focuses on creating a space which is therapeutic, similar to the medicinal benefits in which the Cardamom possess. The thin translucent overlapping layers which are placed in accordance to the arrangement of the seeds and textured according to the shell, provides diffused natural lighting into the space beneath. This at the same time, enables shadows casted by surrounding objects to form on the interior surface of the layers. The layers direct wind flow into the space alongside, creating platforms for users to rest on, without their vision getting disrupted by the movement circulation.
