ASSISTING ROBIN IN THE PRE SCHOOLS

This planet needs people like Robin Farthing, ready to create change through love and understanding.
During our short visit to the Headquarters of DAPP in Blantyre, we met Robin a former DI (Development Instructor) from CICD. It didn’t take us so much time to recognize that he was different, he carried something special deep inside in his heart and soul. We wondered what he was doing there, what was his inner purpose to abdicate of the comfort of his home even with that age. Despite of his fragile appearance, his eyes radiated us strength and resilience. In fact, his eyes were seeking for humanity and truth.
Robin once told us that Jesus of Nazareth was his infinite source of inspiration. We could see clearly that he lived a simple and humble life, with no attachment to material goods. He is following the same steps as Jesus did – dedicating his life to the others. He embraces his life with a passion to serve. His home is nothing more than a small caravan near York. Just in that way, he can save money to fund his projects. He does it by heart. He always come back to Malawi. He never forgets his pupils and his people. He has been running 3 pre-schools since 10 years ago. He works in England in order to have income to continue his projects.
The preschools are based in Chilangoma, Blantyre close to the Headquarters of DAPP, where he finds accommodation all times that we comes to Malawi.
In the course of our staying in Chilangoma for Christmas Holidays, we wanted to explore Robin´s world. We wanted to be part of his projects, to support him as much as we could. So, we decided to go with him to the pre-schools.
Robin shared with his learners the importance of peace and comprehension. Just trough peace and acts of love is possible to find the real happiness. We all depend on each other, as well as our happiness depend on the happiness of others.
In that day, after the lesson the learners were involved in different activities, including games, theatre performance, storytelling, praying and a Christmas meal.
