夜 This typeface come from the ancient poetry that describes the poet to leave his hometown and sleeping hardly due to the beautiful landscape making he yearning to his home. I could visualize the poet's tossing and turning and I obtain a right angle by this behavior and creat this typeface. 这套字体来自一首古诗,这首诗描述一个 背井离乡的诗人因为看到了美丽的夜景, 引起思乡之情而辗转反侧的样子。通过这 个动过,作者将其抽象成直角进行创作。

This typeface is changed by Simsun. The designer expects to increase Sinsun's sense of power and generate the feelings of inscriptions style, so the typeface is designed to be straightness and decreased the circular bead.

这套字体由宋体改进而成,因为希望增加 宋体的力量感,并带来碑刻体的感觉,所 以在字体设计中将宋体变得更加平直,也 减少了笔画中的圆角。

24 Solar Terms

China has a traditional season calendar that reminds people to cultivate in different seasons. This calendar contains astrology and the eight diagrams. Today, Chinese still use it to record festivals and solar terms. This traditional season calendar is called the 24 solar term. 中国有一个传统的节历用于提醒人们安排 不同季节里的农作活动。这种节历包含了 占卜和八卦。如今,中国人仍然使用它来 记录节庆和节气,这样的传统节历就叫做 二十四节气。

In this software the eight trigrams is connected with 24 solar terms. And every trigrams record 2 solar terms and 1 month, the information and celebrate will be showed when the icon of solar term is clicked. 在软件中,八卦与二十四节气相联系。并 且用一卦来标记两个节气和一个月份。当 使用者点击节气图标时,相关的信息和节 庆就会显示出来。

In this interface, the customer can slide the screen to search for dates, reminder notifications, festivals or solar terms. The customer will see the dynamic effects in quiescence. When the customer presses on the date, it will enlarge so that the information can be viewed. 在界面中,使用者可以滑动屏幕寻找日期、 提醒、节日或节气。在动作停止之后,将 会看到屏幕上的动态效果。

当使用者按住日期的时候,日起将会被放 大,因此使用者能够看到需要的信息。

Art Exhibition Poster I

INSPIRATION 设计灵感

The inspiration of poster is from Andy Warhol's Pop Art works and the designer do not expect to show the pure Pop Art style, but he tends to extract and exchange the elements to generate a new feeling. Voltaire's eyes are covered by diverse graphics. The designer expects viewers to watch arts with their own way but the universal value.

海报的灵感来自于安迪沃霍尔的波普艺术 作品,但是设计者并不希望表现纯粹的波 普风格,而是通过提取和转换从而形成一 种新的感受。

伏尔泰的眼部被不同的图形遮盖,作者希 望观者能够通过自己的眼睛看待艺术,而 不是以普世的眼光看待。

The inspiration of poster is from the theme of exhibition. In this exhibition that is called Echo, the designer tends to utilise the simple graphic to transmit the clear concept. From out of sound to receive of sound and from watching works to seeing our own self, that is echo.

Nowadays in China, tea products have excessive packags. The package materials have seriously impacted our environment. The designer desires to design a package that is simple, environmentally friendly and cyclic utilization. In this work, the designer hopes customers feel special at drinking the tea, so the work adds the musical elements into the tea package. The vital thing is that the packaging is designed a lower airproof product, so the users have to drink it up in limited time.

在现今的中国,茶叶产品被过度的包装, 并且所用的包装材料极大的影响了我们的 环境。设计者希望设计一种简洁、环保和 可循环利用的包装。设计者希望使用者能 够感受到设计的关怀,所以将音乐的元素 融入其中。

很重的事在于,这个包装被设计成较低的 密封度,因此使用者需要在有限的时间内 将其完全食用。

The packaging materials concludes a poster, a CD jewel case, and bubble wrap. The bubble wrap protects the tea and other materials. The CD jewel case would contain a music CD, so customers can play it while drinking their tea. This group would give a special feeling to customers. 包装材料包括一张海报、一个 CD 壳和气 泡膜。

气泡膜可以保护茶叶以及其他材料;CD 壳用来包装 CD,因此消费者可以在饮茶 时享受音乐,这样的组合也可以带来不同 的体验。

Tea may be consumed early in the day to heighten

sold. While tea is the second most consumed beverage on Earth after water, in many cultures it is also consumed at elevated social events, such as afternoon tea and the tea party. the Chinese and Japanese tea ceremonies, each of which employs traditional techniques and ritualized protocol of One form of Chinese tea ceremony is the Gongfu tea ceremony, which typically uses small Yixing clay teapots and oolong tea. Tea is prevalent in most cultures in the Middle East. In Arab culture, tea is a focal point for social gatherings. In Pakistan, both black and green teas are popular and are popular green tea called kahwah is often served after every meal in in the Pashtun belt of Balochistan and in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which is where the Khyber Pass of the Silk Road is found. In the Kashmir region of Pakistan, Kashmiri chai or noon chai, a pink, milky tea with pistachios and cardamom, is consumed primarily at special occasions, weddings, and during the winter months when it is sold in many kiosks. In Central and Southern Punjab along with metropolitan Sindh, tea with milk and sugar (sometimes with cardamoms, etc.) commonly referred as Chai is widely consumed. It is the most common beverage of working class and households. In the northern Pakistani regions of Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan, a salty, buttered Tibetan-style tea is consumed. In Iranian culture, tea is so widely

United States & Canada In the United States and Canada, 80% of tea is consumed cold, as iced tea. Sweet tea is a cultural symbol of the southern US, and is common in that portion of the country. Switzerland has its own unique blend of iced tea, made with the basic ingredients like black tea, sugar, lemon juice and mint, but a variety of Alp herbs are also added to the concoction. Apart from classic flavors like lemon and peach, exotic flavors like jasmine and lemongrass are also very popular. In India, tea is one of the most popular hot beverages. It is consumed daily in almost all homes, offered to guests, consumed in high amounts in domestic and official surroundings and is made with the addition of a lot of milk with or without spices. It is also served with biscuits which are dipped in the tea and eaten before consuming the tea. More often than not, it is drunk in "doses" of small cups rather than one large cup. On April 21, 2012 the Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission (India), Montek Singh Ahluwalia, said that tea would be declared as national drink by April 2013.The move is expected to boost the tea industry in the country. Speaking on the occasion, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said a special package for the tea industry would be announced in the future to ensure its development.

In the United Kingdom, especially England, it is consumed daily and often by a majority of people across the country, and indeed is perceived as one of Britain's cultural beverages. In British homes, it is customary good manners for a host to offer tea to guests soon after their arrival. The British prefer black tea, served in mugs with milk and perhaps sugar. Tea bags are almost always used; PG Tips is the most popular brand.It was founded by Arthur Brook in 1869. Tea is generally consumed at homse; outside the home in cafés, coffee is the drink of choice for many people. Afternoon tea with cakes on fine porcelain is a cultural stereotype, sometimes available in quaint tea-houses. In south-west England many cafes serve a 'cream tea', consisting of scones, clotted cream, and jam alongside a pot of tea. Throughout England, and Scotland, 'tea' may also refer to the evening meal. In Burma aka Myanmar, tea is consumed not only as hot drinks, but also as sweet tea and green tea known locally as laphet-yay and laphet-yay-gyan respectively. Pickled tea leaves, known locally as laphet, are also a national delicacy. Pickled tea is usually eaten with roasted sesame seeds, crispy fried beans, roasted peanuts and fried garlic chips.

In the back cover, the designer uses several electrical equipments to replace radical of words. These equipments echo the front cover for generating synaesthesia of feeling. For example, the radio is comparison with sense of hearing.

摘 要 本文将从不同的文化和设计的角度对比和比较中西方在装帧设计以及审美意识上的异同。并 且,作者也认为这种残缺、笨拙和晦涩的美才是最能回归于人内心的美。在现代设计中,多 数设计者用光滑、完美和鲜艳的形式来表现作品,然而在日本的思想中,他们更追求美学意 识上的黯然和枯寂。这样的思想一直贯穿于日本设计的始终,从而使得日本设计的作品表现 出一种更符合于东方意蕴的审美。日本将这种古雅、简朴、收敛和贫乏的美称为:Wabisabi(中文译为“侘寂”),一种与茶道相关的美学意识。 关键词:侘寂美学 禅宗美学 装帧设计

THE APPLICATION OF WABI-SABI IN BINDING DESIGN ABSTRCT This paper contrasts with oriental and west graphic design and aesthetic from diverse cultures and design opinions. The author also suggests that the esthetic which is incomplete, clumsy and obscure, is generated from inner world. In contemporary design,increasing number of designers exhibits their works with patterns of smooth, perfect and bright. Nonetheless, in Japan, designers tend to pursue the dejected and lonely aesthetic consciousness. This thought get always through the Japanese design, therefore, the works showcase aesthetic that conforming oriental aesthetic. In Japan, the esthetic that contains quaint, simplicity, convergence and poor calls Wabi-sabi (the aesthetic consciousness relating with tea ceremony).
