Crochet Slippers

These slippers are worked in the round, starting with the soles. This pattern will fit a size 6-7 foot.

Materials Double knit wool (2 strands together) 5.5mm Crochet hook

Instructions Chain 22 Round 1: 2 sc in 2nd chain from hook. Sc in each of the next 9 stitches. Hdc in next st. Dc in each of the next 8 st’s. 2 dc in the next st and 4 dc in the last st. Continuing around, make 2 dc in next st, working through both the remaining loops of the foundation chain. Dc in each of the next 8 st’s.

Hdc in next st. Sc in each of the next 9 st’s. 2 sc in last st.

Round 2: You are going to continue working in a spiral, so do not join or turn your work.

Make 2 sc in the first st of the previous round. Sc in the next st and 2 sc in the one after that. Sc in each of the next 9 st’s. Hdc in next st. Dc in next 8 st’s. 2 dc’s in next 6 st’s. Dc in next 8 st’s. Hdc in next st. Sc in next 9 st’s. *2 sc in next st. Sc in next st* x 2.

Round 3: 2 hdc in first st of previous round. Hdc in next 2 st’s. 2 Hdc in next st. Hdc in next 19 st’s. *2 hdc in st, hdc in next st* x 5. 2 hdc in next st. Hdc in next 19 st’s. *2 hdc in st, hdc in next 2 st’s* x2 Round 4: 2hdc in first st of previous round. Hdc in next 3 st. 2 hdc in next st. Hdc in next 20 st’s. *2 hdc in st, hdc in next 2 st’s* x 5. 2 hdc in next st. Hdc in next 20 st. 2 hdc in next st. Hdc in next 3 st’s. 2 hdc in next st. Hdc in next st. Sc in next st. Sl st in next st.

The next 6 rounds will make up the body of the slipper. You can finish off the sole and add a different colour yarn for the top of the slipper if you prefer. If you do that, add the new yarn into the last st worked above.

Round 5: Ch 2. In back loops only, hdc in every stitch around. Join to the beginning ch-2 with a sl st.

Sc in next 17. Hdc2tog. Hdc in next 5. Join to initial ch-2 with a s st. (49) To finish: Sl st in every st around. Ch 1 and bind off. Work away tails.
