Winnie the Pooh & Friends From Paper to Small Screen to Big Screen


Winnie-the-Pooh is a fictional bear created by A. A. Milne.


Pooh is the main character in Milne’s books:

(published in 1926)

(published in 1928)


The setting of the stories is based on the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex, England.

The books written by A. A. Milne were illustrated by E.H. Shepard


The first editions of the books contained simple line drawings.


Shepard colored his original line drawings for new editions of Winnie the Pooh (1974)

‘The Pooh Story Book’ (1976) contained new line & color pictures by Shepard.


The Pooh stories were later made into a series of Winnie the Pooh featurettes produced by Walt Disney Productions.
