product development.

Project Scope

In preparation for university this semester, I was surprised at how unaccessible aesthetic lunch containers were. It was difficult to find unique yet affordable lunch containers in Australia. Therefore, It was my aim to create a unique solution for home-made takeaway. I wanted to encourage other people to see how easy it can be to construct healthy and tasty meals at home without the help of a recipe.

Process

Meal prepping was my inspiration. Following the similar idea of levelling out protein, carbs and fats on a plate, I wanted to create cues on my product to help people proportion their ingredients appropriately. I personally believe that searching for recipes is a timely process and people only get one recipe out of it at a time. I wanted to create a variety of meal templates so that users can easily adapt the recipe to their leftover ingredients. I chose jars because they are sturdy, accessible and BPA-free. Food tends to stay fresher in glass overtime.

WHAT IS GOOD4U? uPrep and The Good Foundation has teamed up to create a series of cooking workshops under the program good4u. We believe cooking is an essential skill which not many millenials utilize these days. Thus, It is important for us to help educate young adults on how to cook, prepare and proportion meals effectively.

GOOD4U PRESS RELEASE PUTTING THE LID ON OBESITY Obesity has risen to 64% in Australian adults, thus it’s time to put the lid on bad eating habits for good. uPrep and The Good Foundation are working together in May to help young millennials take charge of what they eat. From the same foundation that brought us Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food, a series of half-day workshops are being brought to various shopping centres along the Gold Coast. The Good4u project aims to educate millennials on how to portion meals, utilize leftover ingredients and get creative with healthy versions of their favourite meals – all in one jar. Cooking is an important life skill that everyone should learn. Currently, our health is suffering as we rely too much on takeaways, snacks and readymade meals for our nutrition. With the help of uPrep jars, millennials will realise how easy and delicious “homemade takeaway” can be.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MAY 30, 2017
