London Underground Poster Styles

Page 1

JOE ALLAM Having always been inspired by design on the London Underground, I went to the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden to look at the history of the Underground and the design that accompanied it.

I’ve always taken note of how simple and informative the poster designs are for the London Underground and wanted to create a few of my own informational posters using the key elements of the well known style.

The most noticeable thing was how proud they are of their logo “The Roundel” and how they use that as the main focus in the majority of the designs to convey a message quickly to the busy traffic of people.
