Collective Housing in Biel Urban response and typology diversity
Urban form This housing unit redefines the public space by extending the south station square, creating a spatial dialogue. This new area has a view of the station from outside on the urban block. By its "Z" shape, the building articulates a more private area in the back for occupants. Typology This accommodation block meets social diversity of the district by typological variety. This diversity offers apartments ranging from two to six rooms composed of singles and duplexes to maximize the perception of the interior space. The complexity of these apartments is associated with the theme of the loggias to offer a new vision of their home in a collective housing unit. Construction Regular static system and heat system of the building have promoted the use of wood in construction. 4th semester

Designers’ Saturday in Langenthal A permanant place for the exhibitions
Langenthal This building is the main element of the Designers’ Saturday exhibition in Langenthal, held every two years. Composition This project is set up within the urban boundary. It generates two outdoor spaces by marrying the boundaries of the place and the articulation of the shape. It gives the south part a home site and the north a public park. By a cantilever, it highlights the support of the following exhibitions. Circulation The organization of the building is divided by layers from public to private. The circulation enables the privatization of the top floor for the administrative part of the program. Light The appearance of the volume is composed of vertical metal elements to unify the façade and subdued natural light for the exhibition space. 5th semester

Artists in Residence in Pampigny Art in one village
Context How to integrate several places of artistic activities and exhibition spaces into the landscape of this rural village. Composition These art spaces have integrated old pantries to coexist harmoniously with the village of Pampigny. Center The exhibition space takes place in the village center where all people converge. By its height and neutral expression, it seeks to provide a new public interest for the village. Spaces To allow double-height for certain types of exhibitions, spaces are developed into split-levels along a functional service band.

Visitor center for the DählhÜlzli Zoo a passage to the Tierpark
Introduction Located on the bottom of the Zoological Garden Bern, the reinterpretation of the petting zoo aims to promote the transition to the top by enticing the visitors to explore the upper level. Openings These two sculpted masses, close to each other, symbolizes the passage leading to the zoo. This entry placed at the beginning of the place gives the visitors the feeling of taking their first steps into the petting zoo. Symbolic A rigid, monolithic character; these two stones mark the separation of urban and natural world. Geode These rocks share the program. One contains the public part and the other, leaning against the bank for the private part. The contrasting typology seeks to feel like the inside of a geode, highlighting the major spaces by its emptiness.

Market/Church Spiritual composition
Prelude A combination of two competing programs. This relationship is a reinterpretation as the two volumes are placed next to each other in a horizontal manner, while the spiritual side of the other creates contrast through its verticality. Flexibility Requiring only a roof for its opening days, three times per week, the market will also be a space devoted for the neighborhoods and various cultural events. Course Through a nonspecific religion, this tower is intended as a setting for cohabiting various prayers and meditations spaces for an intense spiritual journey suspended between this structure.

Cantilever
Attach the upper part to the lower part of the town
Transition With the theme of the cantilever, this project fits on the edge of town. He made the transition through this massive wall to let a passage to these two areas. It raises to cover and mark this moment. Balance The balance is the vector of the form. Searching the limit that would sustain the cantilever, we put the length of the longer range than that of the support. This static problem was solved by a pedestal hidden in the ground and tensioned cables.

Temporary shelter in Fribourg town A solution for disaster
Thematic week The challenge this week was the development and construction of temporary shelters made of cardboard. This constraint should be weather resistant. Shape development Inspired by origami, this folding form is simple to implement and is stabilized by a triangulation system. This folding is an easy and efficient answer that develops a simple plan allows intuitive implementation.

Pedestrian bridge in the Fribourg oldtown Connecting two paths separated by the cliff
Multidisciplinary The multidisciplinary course combines the architect, the engineer and the foreman for an exchange of knowledge to a common project. Crossing This bridge connects two paths away from this natural obstacle for a better development. This scheme provides an overview of what was the founding element of the city of Fribourg. With the crossing of the river, the bridge provides a link with the right bank of the Sarine, now difficult to access. Technique The structural problems are solved by the geometry of the bridge generating slopes boosting the footpath. The realization of the work would be managed by a single crane allowing for effective implementation. Group project 5th semester
