The brochure contains details of our comprehensive professional development sessions tailored for all phases. This offer complements the wide range of traded services we provide and also captures the professional development offered by the four teaching school alliances within the borough. Our professional development programmes draw on best practice from both local and national initiatives and are delivered centrally by our school improvement team and external providers. We draw on our outstanding record of achievement in Hackney and beyond to share best practice to support the growth of schools, teachers and leaders. We offer an extensive range of leadership training to support school leaders at all stages of their careers. The courses for teachers and support staff in primary schools focus on enhancing aspects of quality first teaching (QFT) and developing innovative practice. assessment TEACHING FOR DEPTH AND MASTERY Chris Quigley, Quigley Education and Future Stars TSA ½ DAY COURSE 9.30am – 12.30pm Friday 10 February 2017 (FSTSA 106) VENUE The Tomlinson Centre, Hackney Depth of Learning is the key measure of progress in the new National Curriculum. The government is proposing end of key stage assessments which include a mastery level. This course will help you to understand the nature of progress, the type of questions to ask to help pupils to reach the mastery level, as well as provide examples of mastery level questions from all the National Curriculum Subjects. The programme consists of eighteen half day and one full day taught sessions and fifteen half-day focussed visits to schools. COURSE OBJECTIVES • To support teachers in statutory assessment at the end of KS2, in preparation for the 2017 tests. • To identify ways to support children to meet national standards through good pedagogical approaches.
