“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil” (Gen 2:7-9). “And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a aming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life” (Gen 3:20-24). Other parts of the Bible also mention The Tree of Life. In Ez 47:12 we read of trees whose ‘fruit will be for food and their leaves for
healing’. “And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine” (Ezk 47:12). This image is taken up also in Rev 22:1-2 “And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations”. It is clear particularly in Proverbs where a number of things are referred to as ‘a tree of life’ (wisdom (3:13-19), the fruit of the righteous (11:30), desire ful lled (13:12), and a wholesome tongue (15:4)) that the Tree of Life in these references symbolizes that which brings joy and healing to people. “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the rst and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city” (Rev 22:12-14).

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the re, and they are burned” (John 15:1-6).

“Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall. My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me. This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him” (Lam 3:19-25). “There is no one who is insignificant in the purpose of God”. ~ Alistair Begg ~ As Christians, we see God in everything. It is because of Him that a flower grows, that a baby is born, that the earth spins, etc. His hand is in every single thing that happens in this world. If we can be forgiven for every mistake we’ve ever made and be accepted into the kingdom of God, it’s only fair that we can forgive other imperfect people for their transgressions. “ We may speak about a place where there are no tears, no death, no fear, no night; but those are just the benefits of heaven. The beauty of heaven is seeing God”. ~ Max Lucado ~ "God responds to our thoughts and our confession. God is not responsible to our thoughts. Our heart is a medium for communicating to God.” “Faith is a living and unshakable confidence, a belief in God so assured that a man would die a thousand deaths for its sake”. ~Martin Luther~
Having ultimate faith is something we should all strive for. To be so undoubtedly committed to God that we don’t question His plan for us, we simply do our best to live according to His wishes and do our best to be like Christ. God doesn’t ask us to do things that we aren’t capable of doing. With God by our side and in our hearts, we can make it through even the hardest of times. He is the ultimate support. “Being a Christian is more than just an instantaneous conversion, it is like a daily process whereby you grow to be more and more like Christ”. ~ Billy Graham ~ As God helps us, we can rejoice in Him, pray about everything, and give thanks often. And those things will help us live in even greater harmony with our brothers and sisters in Jesus.
Fireflies (The Persecuted Church) ‘Have you heard of the firefly? It shines in the darkness and lights up the sky People capture them to contain their light And to gaze upon that wondrous sight So it is with the saints of Christ They're pursued and captured because of their light And if God wills, it just might be That their captors will be changed By the light that they see And with faces aglow with the radiant light They become, themselves, like the firefly’
