NELSON FUTURE HIGH STREETS FUND TRAFALGAR HOUSE OPTION 1 ‘REFURBISHMENT + RETENTION’

This scheme aims to retain much of the existing structure and external walls to reduce demolition costs. The layout of the existing building has partially changed, with 17-one and two bed apartments added across 3 floors. A new standing seam extension joins the two wings to create a modern entrance and upper gantry walkway.

NELSON FUTURE HIGH STREETS FUND TRAFALGAR HOUSE OPTION 2 ‘REFURBISHMENT + REINVENTION’

This scheme provides a contemporary redesign to the site, with the intention of demolishing the rear of the existing building and replacing it with a 4 storey new-build development. The Ellen street facade has been retained and worked into the new design. The contrasting material palette of the existing stonework and the proposed standing seam facade provides visual interest. The scheme contains twelve, 2 bed apartments and two, 2 bed duplex apartments.

NELSON FUTURE HIGH STREETS FUND TRAFALGAR HOUSE OPTION 3 ‘REFURBISHMENT + REDUCTION’ This scheme attempts to retain the character and atmosphere of Trafalgar House, whilst scaling back the size of the development. The retention of the Ellen Street facade acts as an architectural feature as well as creating a physical barrier to the rear of the site. The inclusion of an additional 13 parking spaces in hard and soft landscaping provides ideal parking for the 4, two bedroom apartments as well as fantastic town centre parking opportunities.
