Urban vertical connector & hotel in Blanes’ sea front

The main purpose of this Project is to show that a new touristic model is possible in some cities in the Catalan coast, Blanes in this particular case. This exercise tries to mingle the local people with foreigners. On one hand, the building has a hotel program designed with the mission of pursuing tourists. However, not the young ones looking for party and drinking, to those which unfortunately the people of Blanes has been forced to get used to; but a friendly and respectful tourism. On the other hand, the project merges the see and the mountain due to its privileged location turning the building into an urban elevator, making the whole area more accessible. It offers the pedestrians the chance to go up or go down of the La Creu hill’s top, 25 meters above, which is in the middle of a green route that goes onto the train station. This situation allows the possibility to enhance a connexion between the reception and the favourite destiny of the tourists. 5

Housing + apart-hotel and shopping mall in Blanes’ sea front

The place where the project is located is quite unusual on the Costa Brava. In the newly built part of Blanes, between the private residential part and the hotels, there is a huge void of more than half a kilometer length that irtually reaches the first line of the coast. Currently there is a precarious parking lot, a couple of football fields in poor condition and an abandoned sports center as the closest piece to the sea. To reuse the area, the program contemplated the creation of an urban park combined with a public car park for 600 vehicles. However, the key piece in this project is the great tower that should inculude approximately 80 permamanent apartment and 100 tourist apartments. In this particular case, the tower reached 17 floors. In addition to the complementary hotel services program and a private parking for 170 cars. Finally, to reuse the sports center, the program included the construction of a mall. 25

Housing & co-working in Rec Comptal Street, Barcelona

The project is located to the west of the Arc de Triomf. Which it means the beginning of the old part of Barcelona, Ciutat Vella. currently in this place there is the Rec Comptal Hotel. The main aim of the project was to give a clear ending to the building block, creating a route for the pedestrian. To do that a basement in the groundfloor closes the block. From here, three towers protrude, absorbing the bulk of the apartments. At the same time, the other side of the Hort dels Velluters passage was used to rehabilitate an old warehouse and turn it into the Coworking on the ground floor. As in the previous case, a tower which indculde the apartments rises from the ground flor. 35

Reception center for migrant people in Can Ricart, Barcelona

The project is located in Poblenou neighborhood. It has experienced a kind of revitalization due to the office buildings of 22@ district on the one hand, and on the other thanks to the many entrepreneurs and artists who have decided to settle in the area. The whole of four Eixample’s blocks, was an old industrial bulding set. Now some are used by an artistic collective called Hangar. There is also the Can Ricart Youth Center, that is why a reception center is pretended to be built right here. In this place, in addition to living with boys in the same situation, they will try to teach them the local language and some professional trade in order to carve out a future for themselves. From this idea the program was thought. In this case the building is divided into two floors. On the ground floor is the most functional part of the building: the dining room with the kitchen, the classrooms, the sleeping space for the monitors in charge and other places for management. In the upper floor there are the rooms for young people, as well as some convivial spaces such as a study room and a meeting room. 57
