Joel E. Lewinsohn Teacher

Teacher Joel E. Lewinsohn teaches Mathematics at Olympia High School. He has spent over 19 years in this profession. He has experience teaching in the middle school, high school and college levels. Additionally, he has worked as a Mechanical Engineer, which is highly specialized math and science field. Joel shares, “Obviously, I like math and enjoy using it, or I wouldn’t still be doing what I’m doing. I think as a math instructor it is my privilege and responsibility to be engaging, clear, and remove the “fear factor” from my students. Math is a tool and needs to be developed.” Joel Lewinsohn is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and was named Stanwood High School’s Teacher of the Month in 2006. Joel Lewinsohn completed his Masters of Arts in Teaching in 2003 and is certified to teach mathematics in Washington and Montana.
