1875 SE Exeter Drive The home was purchased by the current owners in February 2002. In the summer of 2002, the current master bedroom was constructed by enclosing a deck that was built over a family room addition that was added by the previous owner. Between 2002 and 2006, the basement was built out. This included replacement of galvanized plumbing with Wirsbo or Pex. A light well was installed to create a permitted legal space. All old ductwork in the Basement was removed and replaced with new. The furnace was moved below the stairs and replaced with a new high efficiency furnace. The floor was stripped of paint and acid stained and sealed. All new electrical was installed. A new larger efficient gas water heater was added in 2012.
In 2007, a major remodel included stripping the cedar shake shingles from the exterior. Sheathing was added to the exterior walls. Blow in insulation was added to all exterior walls. All electrical wiring on the outside walls was replaced. All electrical wiring in interior spaces that were modified is new. All new double pane, insulated windows from Kolbe & Kolbe were installed. All doors except the front door were replaced. The exterior was replaced with stucco by Euro Stucco. All of this makes the home quiet and energy efficient. A large front porch was created to provide a proper and proportional entrance to the home. The attic was built out into a large bedroom with built-in drawers, bookshelves and with its own heater and air conditioner, spanning the entire top of the house. A security system was added with 4
external cameras and all opening windows and doors alarmed. All floors on the main level of the home were replaced. The roof gutters were replaced with copper gutters. Plumbing was put in place for a solar water heater. An upstairs bathroom was remodeled and includes a double vanity, stone surfaces, custom tile and cabinetry a heated floor. The shower is enclosed by glass and has a steam generator for taking steam baths. In the fall of 2014, a 24’ by 40’ by 9.5’ deep salt water pool was installed with a large hot tub. The pool has automated controls, LED multicolor lights, a waterfall with LED lighting, a diving board and a robot vacuum system. The pool has both a heat pump and a gas heater. Sanitation is provided by salt cells that convert salt to chlorine and an acid feeder that converts the chlorine back into salt while keeping the ph at preset levels. In 2016, the driveway was demolished and replaced with pavers. Hard scrape was added to the backyard to provide more areas for entertaining. Landscaping was added and includes core-ten steel planter boxes for flowers or vegetables. The garden has fruit trees (plum, cherry and pear) and blueberry, raspberry and strawberry plants in addition to rosemary, thyme and sage plants. A large pink flowering dogwood tree frames the back of the house and is a defining feature in the spring. Other flowering trees and shrubs include azalea, andromeda, daphne, magnolia and camellia among others. A phone app controlled irrigation system was also added. In 2018, a major remodel of the main floor included creating a laundry/mud room with stone countertops and utility sink. There are built in dog crates that can also be used for storage of large or bulky items. The family room was converted into a kitchen with kitchen aid appliances ( six burner stove top, double oven double door refrigerator and silent dishwasher. The kitchen also has stone countertops and island
large enough to seat six people plus have unfettered food prep area. There is leaded glass in cabinets, a beverage station with coffeemaker, filtered insta-hot and cold water. There are two pantries with tons of storage. An open floor plan connects the kitchen to a more formal dining room. And the kitchen opens to the garden for summer entertaining. The powder room was remodeled and expanded to add a full shower and further connected to the back yard for pool guests to have direct access to the bathroom without having to walk through the rest of the home. In 2020, the garage was remodeled. Paint was stripped and new paint applied. New garage doors were installed along with other improvements. In 2020, the upstairs of the home was remodeled. A true master suite was created to have a small sitting room with access to the north balcony. The room has direct access to the west balcony overlooking the golf course and the Willamette River. The ceiling is vaulted. A bathroom was remodeled and made a part of the master suite. The bathroom has custom tile work and cabinets. There is a separate shower and large cast iron tub. A double vanity is separated by a large cabinet. There is a toilet separated from the bathroom by a pocket door. The closet was designed and installed by California Closets. All the floors were replaced with 3/4” hardwood. The stairs were refinished. The southeastern bedroom has a built-in dresser and storage that was added. The northeastern bedroom has access to the north balcony. It had a walk-in closet added during the remodel and California Closets designed and installed the interior.
