The acreage rising above the east side of Hood River, Oregon, winding up Hidden Oaks Drive, is now composed of 16 luxury home sites and 40 % remaining open space. Each lot is as unique as the fine community members now inhabiting the land. The views of Hood River, Mount Hood, Mount Adams, farm land and the Columbia River Gorge are stunning. This land was originally open hill side, above a family’s orchard. The original owners of this land, purchased in 1962, had foresight for the future of the acreage. It was this look to the future, and planning for their family, which evolved into the community now known as Pine Crest. It is a gorgeous one-of-a-kind very special place. We had the blessing of working with the children of the original landowners to a bring their parent’s vision for this land to the fore. Today there are new landowners, who will shape the future of this heavenly place on earth. The past has become the present and the future. A few excerpts from the original guidelines penned for the land say it all. We are honored to have had the opportunity to be part of this very unique and thoughtful progression of then to now: …The intension of this document is to encourage the building of outstanding individually designed homes which gently blend into the overall context of Pine Crest. …Sustainability shall be incorporated into the design and construction of the home and homesite in ways that are intended to preserve the resources, ecosystem and natural beauty of the development. A large percentage of the land will remain untouched in order that the rich habitats for plants and animals may continue to thrive. The ecosystem will remain in its natural state, as much as possible. Please enjoy the pages ahead portraying the many elements of the Pine Crest story…
