Sell To The Rich
Choose Who You Sell To In the marketing and sales worlds, I hear so many excuses from business owners, as to why they cannot seem to sell enough to make a decent living. Or maybe they are being blown off by people who come to them with empty promises of buying their service or product. Whatever the excuse is why they are not succeeding with the sales aspect of their business, it all comes down to one thing, the prospect. Now you’ve probably heard different notions about sales and how sales people should be selling their products. Some still believe the hardcore sales approach still works, using various closing techniques that are often underhanded and trying to get prospects who are not fully qualified to sign on the dotted line. Often the main issue is that the customer may not need your product/service, but sometimes it can be a financial reason. In this post I am going to try to explain something to you that seriously changed my thinking about who I market and sell to.. In fact, I am also going to tell you now, that whether your business is online or indeed offline, you are never going to make any significant money selling low priced products to the majority of the population, let me explain. There are many people out there who may well want what you have, but are only able to commit to buying low priced products or who may just pass on the opportunity. But what if you could promote products worth 1000′s to people who can easily afford them and also need them as well? I know you may be saying “well that’s easier said than done, how do you find these people?”. What you have to stop and think about, is what your ideal customer is like. I’m saying now that you should be targeting highly affluent people who have important jobs and expensive lives.
The easiest place to start looking for them and if you like start targeting them, is the professional networking site LinkedIn. Now we all know that CEO’s, directors, managers of corporations etc, even business owners, all have the money to invest in something that would be of use to them. They are willing to pay top dollar for things that will enrich their lives. My main niche in the internet marketing world, is the internet marketing niche, teaching people how to give themselves more time and freedom, specifically business owners and high powered executives. These people will be looking to retire early and make life much easier, so why not provide the solution? I provide a lucrative solution to earning the same or increased levels of income for people who are looking for more time and freedom, to do the things that they want to, but don’t want to sacrifice their lifestyle. The question is, what are you providing? Are you selling high ticket items to the affluent population? Or are you scratching to sell small items to people who are broke?
