Quick change system for shaft rotators The quick change system enables an easy exchange between different attachments. The mechanical coupling and locking is achieved by the turning motion of the rotator. You simply disconnect quick couplings and disengage the locking device manually. Upper elements of the quick change system are available for all shaft rotators. The system can be used on most attachments, which allows the versatility to quickly change the application with a minimum of down-time. It is not suitable for heavy duty work.

The HPX-Edrive as an allround drive unit with integrated rotator and jaw quick change system is perfect for the daily routine jobs. The advantages of the revolutionary HPXdrive-technology – the constant high closing force and the compact design – are combined with the speed advantage of the HPX-E jaw quick change system in just one single device. As soon as a new demand on site arises, the right attachment for excavating, landscaping, laying pipes, logging, rail track handling etc. can be exchanged in four minutes and the new application can commence. • Efficiency: only the attachments are replaced. One-man-exchange is possible • Quickness: trouble-free exchange of the linchpin from the change-over system within 4 minutes, no hydraulic work necessary • Robust technics: compact design through the integrated rotator. HPX-E Exchangeable Shells
Due to the HPX-E quick exchange system the replacement of shells or grippers mounted to the HPXdrive standard is very easy and fast. Without screws, simply by loosening and setting the linchpins, different tools for various applications can be fitted onto the drive unit, e.g. clamshell buckets, rock grapples, timber grapples, hay- and forestry grapples or multi purpose clamshells. Other types of shells are available on request. The interchangeable shells or grippers are delivered with an exchange aid, which guarantees that the HPXdrive can be positioned onto the shells with ease.

The bucket is the ideal solution for light weight loader cranes in daily routine work – robust, effective, cost efficient. • Maximum loading height is achieved through the compact design with the horizontal hydraulic cylinder • Long life is ensured through the use of 500 HB steel in the manufacture of the cutting edges and a generously dimensioned bearing system • Synchronized opening and closing through a sturdy compensation bar • Bolt-on digging teeth are delivered with each clamshell bucket • Excellent digging characteristics are the result of high closing forces (20 kN at 26 MPa operating pressure)

Universal Forks

The universal fork for loader cranes handles wallboards and other lying delivered building materials up to a size of 1250 mm height and 460 mm depth. • Different tine spreads, besides the standard tine spread of 640-1600 mm are available up to 1000, 1830 or 2130 mm, depending on the sheets that have to be handled • Safe transport of sheets of wallboard in the hinged lower section. The boards can be lifted and folded into a vertical position and clamped between the tines and frame, preventing them from sliding during handling • Protection of the sheets during unloading through semi-tapered forged tines, equipped with rollers and pads. A standard centre slide gives an additional support point for the loads • Security is assured even in case of a drop in pressure due to the integrated counterbalance valve that prevents the fork from opening unintentionally. The hydraulic cylinder is equipped with a pressure relief valve to prevent overload • Accurate positioning of the load is ensured by the tilt cylinder and the rotator • The special version of the universal fork PZP150WA with a second suspension point on the main beam enables the unloading of lying boards through narrow openings in the wall

Augers
The PALFINGER augers provide the highest drilling performances and durability, thus the PALFINGER crane becomes a multipurpose tool. The respectively optimised teeth and centering tips are suitable for earth and gravel layers as well as for soft rock.
Augers
Many manufacturers fasten the teeth friction-locked, so the teeth can easily get lost while drilling. This means costly replacement of the teeth and downtimes. The „shock-lock“ system that is used for earth and Tungsten augers guarantees that the teeth do not get lost during drilling thanks to a locking bolt. This bolt can easily be removed when changing the teeth. The cushioning rubber ensures that the Tungsten tooth will not break, even under the harshest conditions. The teeth of the rock augers are fixed with a taper lock. The use of rock augers is recommended, when drilling in stony soil or soft rock.

Weight Measuring Systems for Hook Operation
The load measuring tool consists of a CROSBY-standard shackle with integrated measuring cell and a transmitter with antenna and battery. This extremely robust version is especially apt for tasks in difficult environments, where a cable connection to the data transmission is not possible. Within the cage for the transmission, mounted laterally to the measuring axis, there is also an easily exchangeable battery. On the opposite side an additionally installed counterbalance provides an optimal shackle position even when the charge is small. This weighing system is optionally available with an aluminium case.

DRS - pressure control with load sensing Function: the pressure control maintains the pressure in a hydraulic system on a constant level within its normal range, even when the volume flow changes. The load sensing pump only carries as much pressure fluid as needed by the end user. In case the operational pressure exceeds the setpoint adjusted at the integrated pressure control valve, the pump is turned back and the deviation from the norm will be reduced.

Hydro Leduc: Axial Piston Fixed Pumps
The new XP-pump generation features some significant improvements and advantages in comparison to the replaced X-series. The new pumps are basically constructed with reinforced sealings. Two radial seals provide an optimum sealing in direction of the gear unit as well as the pump. A transparent plastic pipe in the vent hole prevents the ingress of dirt and high pressure water and should simply be mounted on the suction hose like shown in the figure. • • • • • • • • • • •

Hydro Leduc: Axial Piston Load Sensing Pumps
The pump possesses an integrated displacement flow and pressure control system “load sensing”. This control system is influenced by a proportional valve, which circularises the necessary displacement flow for the circuits, according to the needed drive load-independently directly from the pump. The function load sensing regulates the displacement flow of the pump according to the need of the connected users. At the same time it controls the maximal operating pressure of the pump. • • • •

By-pass valve for XP-pumps For certain XP-pump applications with a continuous, not disconnectable secondary drive rate existing (e.g. motor-camshaft drive), there is a special by-pass valve, which is mounted directly at the end of the pump body. This allows a continuous pumping rotation speed with the following advantages: • No heat development within the hydraulic circuit • No negative detraction of the pumps‘ service life • No further necessary modifications at the hydraulic system of the vehicle The by-pass valve is a switchable solenoid valve (24 volt). Without flow, the by-pass valve is open and connects the pressure side with the suction side. Charged with electric flow, the by-pass valve is closed and an operating pressure is built up. Sunfab: Axial Piston Fixed Pumps Single and Twin Flow Models
The Sunfab SC is a series of piston pumps with a constant delivery flow for challenging, mobile hydraulics. The pump is mounted either directly on the secondary drive or via an intermediary shaft in a frame fastening. In case the hydraulic of an attachment is used while the vehicle is driving, a by-pass valve supplements the SC pump. The high reliability of the Sunfab SC is based on the choice of materials, the curing procedure, the surface structure and the quality secured production process. Sunfab SL is a series of direct double pumps with an extremely low noise level. Pumps with differentiated delivery flow broaden the application area as they can provide 3 different delivery flows: a small, a big and an added up delivery flow. Due to the slim pump housing, a direct mounting on the secondary drive in narrow spaces is enabled. Sunfab SL200 is equipped with a Savtec valve, which can also be used as an emergency shutdown. Sunfab SC 75/75 is one of the biggest twin flow pumps with two constant delivery flows. Due to 7 pistons per delivery circuit, a completly vibration free and constant delivery flow is guaranteed. • • • • • •

The SL pump with Savtec valve allows to switch off the constant displacement. As a consequence the pump delivers oil when it is needed. When the Savtec-valve is closed, the secondary drive is not loaded, which saves energy. The Savtec pump can be updated by a switch in the control panel or automatically by the hand brake or a pressure sensor. If a hose brakes, the valve serves as an emergency shut-off system. 60

Oil Tanks Steel
The PALFINGER additional oil tanks are available with a volume from 75 to 400 litres. The dimensions are chosen in a way that an easy mounting on the vehicle is guaranteed. All oil tanks are equipped with an oil gauge glass, a flange for an oil sensor and a return filter to minimize the danger of contamination within the hydraulic system.

Aluminum Oil Tanks
All aluminum tanks are equipped with a return filter, an oil gauge glass as well as a funnel and ventilation filter. The complete package includes also a suitable aluminium bracket. These aluminium tanks are ideally adjusted to the PALFINGER products and provide an optimal „plug & play“ solution. Advantages of an aluminum tank in contrast to a steel tank: • Corrosion resistant without surface coating • A self weight reduced by up to 40% saves fuel • 1:1 exchangeability with the steel tanks guaranteed • Longer service life compared to the steel tank • Made of high quality aluminium • Reduction of mounting costs • No additional braces of the bracket needed

Subframes
The mounting of the crane onto a carrier vehicle is an important cost factor. Thus PALFINGER provides frame modules that allow a more economic mounting of the crane. Hand in hand with that there is an improved mounting quality due to the use of these prefab modules. All the frames are delivered with transport primer. The material is fine grain construction steel S690.

Mounting frames for PC 1500, PC 2700 and PC 3800
Much attention has been given to the issue of "safety in crane operation". To increase the safety and productivity of the new PC-mounting frames they all fulfil the new norm EN12999:2010 with CE conformity. All mounting frames delivered in EU countries have to correspond to EN12999:2010. Cranes with less than 1000 kg load capacity or a lifting capacity less than 40 kNm (PC 1500) do not need the integrated stability control, a transport position monitoring (AUSVW) is obligatory. For Non-EU countries versions without CE conformity are still available and permitted.
For the models according to EN12999:2010 the following safety installations are necessary: • ISC-S: integrated stability control: the outriggers as well as the stabilizer rams have to be fully extended to be able to lift loads. The situation of the stabilizer is determined by a roller switch at the rams and at the outrigger. A secure and flexible crane operation is only possible with fully extracted outrigger and stabilizer rams • AUSVW: transport position monitoring of the outrigger: the system detects by means of end-position-switches, if the outrigger is in transport position and if the lock is closed. If this is not the case a signal is generated to an optical and acoustic warning in the driver cabin • Tiltable stabilizer pads: the 10° tiltable stabilizer pads adapt optimally to the corresponding incline of the surface. Due to the big stabilizer pads the ground pressure is always below the mandatory limiting value

The new additional stabilizers are adapted optimally to the demands of PALFINGER and developed in close cooperation with the dealers. A variety of improvements make the stabilizers to an ideal accessory in combination with a PALFINGER crane. An optimum power to weight ratio due to the finit elements calculation and the use of high quality steel increases the possible pay load and minimizes the fuel consumption. The ISC- system indicates the stability of the crane. The additional stabilizers are controlled, if the outrigger is fully, semi or not extended, as well as if the stabilizer rams are fully extended. Depending on this information the ISC-system regulates the lifting force of the crane (integrated stability control)
AUSW
A limiting switch monitors the fully retracted position of the outrigger. The completely retracted position is indicated by an optical and acoustical signal in the drivers cab (transport position monitoring)

Additional Stabilizers
All additional stabilizers produced in series have been adapted to the new norm EN12999:2010. Within the EU-countries this new norm is obligatory. Versions without CE conformity are still available and permitted in Non-EU-countries. The option ISC in combination with EN280 is not possible.

Stabilizer rams All of the following stabilizer rams are equipped with tiltable stabilizer pads to fulfil the norm EN12999:2010. For the rigid additional stabilizer BS875, 3 different stabilizer rams have been developed. The stabilizer rams are equipped with a pilot-controlled check valve, which guarantees a secure supporting behaviour.

Accessories Additional Stabilizers
To check the fully retracted position of the stabilizer rams, four different kits with pressure-resistant proximity switches respectively dip switch for the stabilizer rams have been developed. The sensor outputs a signal as soon as the stabilizer is completely retracted. The display of the fully retractable position is via an optical signal in the driver cabin.

Automatic Hooks
The automatic hook with remote control docks on the load by itself, and it can be opened without manual intervention of the crane operator. The hook generates a magnetic field, which attracts the coupling ring and is closed by remote control. The load can be lifted and moved in a time saving way. The radio remote control requires a combination of key strokes to avoid an unintentional action. The motor, which opens and closes the hook, is not strong enough to induce a motion if the weight of the load is too low. An unintended drop or release of the load is not possible. The automatic hook increases the productivity, safety and the comfort. Automatically Uncoupling Systems „FIX DE FIX“
This product is a unique, automatically uncoupling systems. The activation is done by remote control. Thanks to this tool there is no manpower needed for unloading. Advantages of the uncoupling system „FIX DE FIX“ Security: • Increased working security due to the automatically uncoupling of loads at exposed places • As the unloading area is mostly exposed, nobody needs to be in danger by using this tool, e.g. gluelam mounting, concrete formwork
Cost efficient: • The crane working time can be reduced by around 10% due to the possibility to immediately loosen the sling gear after discharging or assuring the load • Less manpower up to one person • The amortisation period at average use is 3-6 months. (Working time of mounting cranes are 1500 hours per year and the cost reduction is around 10 - 20 Euro per machinery working hour)

Uncoupling system for underwater use: A special design of the uncoupling system, (minimum 185 kg to maximum 2000 kg per device) is used exclusively to uncouple weights under water.The device is closed by lifting. After the relief it opens instantly. This version is available on request.
