People Who Know How
To Manage Operations Efficiently For You
6 | People Who Know How
Sometimes, facilities will run better if someone else takes over responsibility - someone who can bring different capabilities together across domains. Someone who can improve and market your specialist services to other potential users – which means you can keep using them yourself. It can save you money – and even make you money.
Test and Evaluation We provide test, evaluation and training support services to the UK Ministry of Defence under a contract worth £5.6B over 25 years called the Long Term Partnering Agreement (www.LTPA.co.uk). We manage and operate 17 MOD ranges and facilities across the UK. At Boscombe Down, we run one of the world’s leading test pilot schools. We have people who know how to advise on all aspects of flight safety, and implement and test air frame modifications. At Aberporth, we test fly unmanned aircraft. At Hebrides and Pendine, we assess the performance of weapons. At Loch Goil, we put maritime platforms through their paces. What’s more, we have made demonstrable savings for our customer by transforming the way these services are delivered. Mission Assurance NASA is transforming Florida’s Kennedy Space Center for the next generation of space travel. We have people who know how to deliver the development, testing and integration services required for NASA’s new facilities – supporting future missions in commercial space flight. Our people’s aerospace engineering and programme management skills were key to our selection as a cost-effective, reliable provider of managed engineering services.
Flight Physiological Centre FMV, the buying organisation for Swedish Defence Forces, own a state of the art pilot training facility called the Flight Physiological Centre, complete with a human centrifuge. This expensive investment was under-utilised. We have people who know how to train fighter pilots to the highest standard, to help them to push their boundaries in a safe environment, and realise their potential as airmen. We have operated, maintained and marketed this facility internationally on FMV’s behalf since 2011, bringing new customers to the centre and improving utilisation. UAV Services The Dutch and Polish Air Forces both needed to obtain aerial intelligence under pressure to support ISAF operations in Afghanistan. We have people who know how to plan and conduct aerial intelligence missions. Working with Aeronautics, the manufacturer of the Aerostar unmanned aerial vehicle, our people successfully ran unmanned aerial operations on behalf of both of these forces on an outsourced managed service basis – delivering intelligence when and where it was needed.
