Above are nine orphans raised by Subarna and Praja Maharjan. The 2015 earthquake destroyed their home and much of Kathmandu. They lived in one open tent and used smoke to keep mosquitoes away during the monsoon season. Due to blockade, there is scarcity of petroleum oil, cooking gas and all necessities imported from India. Subarna and Praja Maharjan have done the extraordinary, taking in eight to ten orphaned children during much of their married life, buying a house bigger than they could afford to provide for other children, giving them shelter, food, schools uniforms, clothing and most of all, family life. Subarna had a small business. Praja is a teacher. They need financial assistance to survive under harsh conditions, rebuild their home and restart Subarna's business. They are making a better world. Aide has been provided by two persons in Denver, Colorado and alumni of the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, USA. A lot more is needed. If you and others you know can send financial assistance, it is easy. 1) Collect donations from several people and send hundreds of dollars at a time to lower transaction fees.
