Reversing Climate Change

We are opposed to a “save the world” minority dictating that the majority give up use of these vital energy resources.

John Holdren, President Obama’s Science Advisor, has used the following terms since the 1970s: a) man-made global cooling, b) man-made global warming, c) man-made climate change, d) man-made climate disruption.

Most of the time, the words “man-made” or anthropogenic are dropped so that the titles mask natural phenomenon and then everything is attributed to mankind. Implied is that these events will be serious to catastrophic and humans are the cause of most of it.

Now, many people claim their technologies can “reverse climate change.

Steps claiming to reverse climate change include: 1) Reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Stop using fossil fuels.

2) Stopping cutting down forests. Stop using wood products.

3) Capture atmospheric carbon dioxide. Reduce the concentration of CO2 from 400 ppm back to 280 ppm. That requires vast amounts of energy to either mechanically remove the very small amounts of atmospheric CO2 or biologically do it. Plant trees, bushes, grasses, etc. where they don’t grow now and artificially water them. If there already was water there, the trees, etc. would be growing there naturally. The alternative is to “design” carbon dioxide absorbents and 1

manufacture them in vast quantities to cover large sections of land and oceans.

4) Reducing the amount of heat the Earth receives from the sun. Put a big high tech “umbrella” between the sun and the Earth.

5) Cause vast amounts of additional clouds to form to block the sun.

6) Soil-regenerative agricultural practices can mitigate and reverse climate change.

8) Move closer to work.

9) Consume less.

10)Be efficient. Do more with less work.

11) Eat smart, go vegetarian.

12) Unplug devices when not being used.

13) Have only one child.

Some of the above are wild fantasy ideas. Others are clearly practical but will not “reverse climate change.”

The expression “reverse climate change” is similar in oversimplification and inference of what humans can do to “global warming,” “climate change” and “climate disruption.”

What does “reverse climate change” mean? It means that they claim they can change Earth’s climate any way they want.” They claim they can cool Earth when it gets warmer and heat Earth when it gets cooler. No one throughout history has made such a claim.

But “reversing climate change” is what President Obama and his Science Advisor, John Holdren claim they can do. They want the world to fall in behind them pursuing very unachievable “reverse climate change” goals.

Stopping use of fossil fuels will put the global economy and food production back to where it was in 1800 or earlier. At that time, the world population was estimated to have been less than 1.2 billion. Today the world population is about 7 billion. Who, John Holdren, Paul Ehrlich and their followers will take responsibility for ending the lives of 5.8 billion people over a half century or century? Will they lead the way and end their 2

lives and those of their children and relatives so the world can get down to 1.2 billion in a century? This arbitrarily imposed “reduction in population” would be the greatest crime against humanity ever, all because of their alarmism. Before 1800 AD, slaves, beasts of burden and the poor did all the work, thereby creating vast amounts of biological waste. The photo of the weather vane below is a graphic reminder of what life was like before the use of fossil fuels. Yet, “climate change” alarmists are looked up to by a significant portion of the world’s population and governments.

Weather vane in Cornwall, England Bill Gates wrote on his website that “There is no author whose books I look forward to more than Vaclav Smil.” In his 2017 book, “ENERGY AND CIVILIZATION – A HISTORY,” Vaclav Smil writes, “Energy is the only universal currency: one of its many forms must be transformed to get anything done.” All paper and coin currencies are only worth the value of the ink and paper the bills are printed on or the metal in the coins.

Many countries have potential enemies who covet their land and natural resources.

Those who plan to conquer others prefer their targets to be as weak as possible before delivering the coup de grace lethal blow. Alarmists advocating stopping use of fossil fuels and denial of access to this tremendous energy resource are aiding the enemy.

They would make North America and Europe energy weak, crippled and vulnerable.

What else can these actions by alarmists on catastrophic man-made global warming, man-made climate change, man-made climate disruption be but treachery, disloyalty, and betrayal of countries using fossil fuels and countries wanting to use fossil fuels.

The world can be a beautiful, wonderful place with fossil fuels, hydro and nuclear. We don’t need to change our principal energy sources. We should change the way people treat other people, the environment and all of nature. That hasn’t changed much throughout history. Now is the time we must begin.
