Where is the Debate . . .?? Has There Ever Been One . . .??
The 5 principals of quality Journalism . . . 1.Truth and Accuracy 2. Independence 3. Fairness and Impartiality 4. Humanity 5. Accountability Any seasoned veteran of Journalism can recite this list backwards in their sleep. That said, in practice, it is a totally different matter . . . Front page sensationalism Rules ! The Story of the Day, the Highlights of the week, the Article of the Month, The Story of the Year . . . These are what REALLY count . . . The 5 principals be dammed! For 30 years now, Environmentalism and the ‘Fear Mongering’ has ruled the Airwaves and the Written Press. The more there is . . . the more that begets . . . another little ‘Gem’ that appears . . . always garnering more anguish from the wide eyed public . . . yes, most of the time, the facts are verifiable, to a point. But ‘Valid Sources’ are a matter of ‘choice’ by Journalists and their Editorialists. Knowing that ‘Sensational’ story lines get the ‘Hits’ gives something of a ‘Slanted’ and even a ‘Jaded Perspective’ on what gets published. The best example of this was the Antarctic Summer of 2022 . . . ‘The Hottest Ever Recorded’ . . . What ALL the media reports Failed to point out was that . . . The previous Winter, of 2021, was ‘The Coldest Ever Recorded’ ! Soo . . . Context was absent . . . Global Warming is what ‘Gets the Hits’ . . . Global Cooling does NOT get ‘The Hits’ . . . Boring . . . No Fear and No Anxiety to rally ‘The Crowd’ to the ‘Climate Change’ cause. This morning there was a quote on the Business Channel . . . Europe is suffering through ‘The Worst Heat Wave in the last 500 years’ . . . Isn’t that interesting . . . Not since the last ‘Global Warming Period’ . . . The Middle Ages Warming Period where the temps were even Higher . . . Imagine that . . . similarities demonstrated by Natural cyclicality, coming from History . . . OH . . . No mention of that! Humm . . . Funny about that? . . . Again, Fear and anxiety are what sells in Journalism! These are just two very simple examples of how ‘The Media’ is focused on bringing ONLY the ‘Human Caused Global Warming’ story, along with all the ‘Amplification’ of the fear and the anxiety, Now further elevated by their reporting. This type of ‘Story Telling’ has been prevalent for so long, absent any rational or counterintuitive debate, viewers ‘Gobble it up’. Society, at large, is ‘Driven’ by these Headlines. Not by the underlying Science, Not by Rational Thinking and Not by common sense. In the absence of ‘Counterintuitive’ Science or ‘Contrarian’ viewpoints . . . The unsubstantiated, even ‘Extremist’ views of ‘Human caused Climate Change’ . . . Prevail ! Unintentionally, I am Sure, The Media runs stories on ‘Environmentalist Saboteurs’ who go after industrial infrastructure dedicated to delivering fossil fuels to market. They explain how these acts lead to incarceration. However, they also point out how the ‘Political Establishment’ becomes influenced by these ‘actions’. The media makes it clear how these ‘Acts of Vandalism’ lead to policy changes and greater supervision of the fossil fuel industry. Successes by sabotage and highlighted as ‘Success’ for the ‘Saboteurs’ . . . That is The Media Establishment today in the 21st Century . . . Anti-Social behavior being given the ‘Green Light’ . . . For ‘The Cause’.

If knowledge or information is peer reviewed and there are credible sources from reliable institutions who have something to say . . . it must be true . . . ?? Not even remotely . . . !! That is why all members of the media establishment MUST allow for dissenting views in their publications, as per the First 3 principals of Journalism !! Sometimes the prevailing views in Science have missed important and relevant questions in their analysis of the ‘Original Science’ or ‘Findings’. . . Doubt MUST be given a Voice as well . . . Open minds look at all sides of an issue, always . . . to remain current and vital and to not become unidimensional thinkers without dissenting viewpoints being given the floor . . . Points to be considered . . . A flat earth had at one time been scientifically proven . . . And . . . The Earth was said to be at the Center of the Universe . . . Maybe these are ridiculous, but they represent great examples of ‘False Science’ once widely accepted as fact among the mases, taking decades to overturn . . . The 'Powers That Be', gather around them strong thinkers and strong science, right or wrong, this is . . . life in the Real World.
