Earth Day in Denver, Colorado, USA
John ShanahanApril 22, 2023
Today, April 22, 2023 is early spring. It is Earth Day. It is cloudy - no sun. It is calm - no wind. There is no renewable energy being produced to operate electric heat pumps. There is no renewable electricity to charge electric cars. People who insist on Net Zero production of carbon dioxide and leaving fossil fuels in the ground aren't going anywhere. Their all electric homes are as cold as igloos. Using their electric cars risks getting stuck on the road, having no heat in their car, and a very expensive tow to a charging station.
Those who appreciate the benefits of fossil fuels and their by-products can enjoy the natural beauty of a spring-winter-wonderland from a home heated with natural gas and electricity from a coal or natural gas power plant. There are no nuclear power plants in Colorado. Their lives are peaceful, comfortable, and happy. They do not fear catastrophic man-made global warming.
