Topics to address in 2024 January 1, 2024 John Shanahan Civil Engineer Denver, Colorado, USA john.shanahan@allaboutenergy.net Here are topics that are important to resolve (2024?) as soon as possible. [Text in brackets explains why each technical topic is as important for politicians to solve correctly as convention issues.]

1) [Reliable, clean energy for thousands of years.] Will the nuclear power industry start focusing on solving real problems holding them back and stop making unscientific claims that nuclear power can change/control global warming? 2) [Reliable, clean energy for thousands of years.] Will the world start promoting use of uranium and thorium and different nuclear power technologies for many special applications? 3) [Reliable, clean energy for thousands of years.] Will the world establish realistic radiation safety guidelines and abandon the artificial and too restrictive Linear No-Threshold and Cumulative Dose Guidelines? 4) [Reliable, clean energy for thousands of years.] Will the world start reprocessing used nuclear fuel and store only real nuclear waste which requires much shorter storage? 5) [Reliable, clean energy and 6000 vital by-products for thousands of years.] Will the world start focusing on how it is going to replace oil for energy uses and by-products that drive 1

most of the modern world? The world is going to run out of oil sooner or later. Or Bill Gates, the Vatican, the World Economic Forum, the European Union , the White House, John Kerry, Al Gore, Michael Mann, John Holdren, Thomas Cochran, Greenpeace, and the Sierra Club are going to force the world to stop using oil. 6) [Understand real climate change and do away with hoax alarmism.] Will climate scientists establish a combined explanation of climate change based on electromagnetic radiation and actual weather parameters? Currently these are two almost mutually exclusive topics that should go well together. 7) [Understand real climate change and do away with hoax alarmism.] Will climate scientists settle the question of what fraction of the increased atmospheric carbon dioxide is due to the use of fossil fuels? 8) THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION - WILL REALISM AND SOUND REASONING PREVAIL OVER ALARMISM REGARDING CLIMATE CHANGE, FOSSIL FUELS AND NUCLEAR POWER? Associates of allaboutenergy.net hope that progress will be made on these topics in 2024. BEST WISHES TO EVERYONE. John A.
