ATTENTION: Montana Public Service Commission

April 9, 2024

This email refers to the Montana Environmental Information Center’s Petition for Adoption of New Rule I and Declarations Pertaining to the Commission’s Consideration of the Adverse Climate Impacts of Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Docket 2024.03.028.

As a scientist trained in Canada and Britain with 34 years of industrial experience, I assert unequivocally that the climate alarmist narrative is devoid of scientific substance. Therefore, any efforts to limit or prohibit the use of fossil fuels, and the consequential emissions of carbon dioxide ("CO2"), should be vigorously opposed.

This appeal advocating for carbon dioxide, the gas of life, stems from an extensive 17-year study of climate change. I implore the PSC to not only dismiss this petition but also to assume a leading position in challenging what is the West's collective self-destructive agreement, also referred to as a "suicide pact". It is noteworthy that nations such as China, India, Russia, and other non-Western countries have not succumbed to the West's prevalent climate-alarmism groupthink.

Respectfully submitted,

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

The West's War on the "Gas of Life"

What if a politician proposed a Bill to reduce the oxygen content of the atmosphere from 21% to less than 19.5%, allegedly to reduce the severity of forest fires? That politician would most certainly feel the outrage of the electorate because achieving such a goal would result in a mass extinction of oxygen-breathing creatures, although on a greener planet.

A mass extinction did occur many years ago but as a result of the natural depletion of atmospheric carbon dioxide ("CO2", "carbon emission"). (Google: Jim Steele, the Permian Great Dying)

It necessarily follows that everyone should be equally outraged over the West's war on CO2, a vital plant food known as the "gas of life".

This war on CO2 has the potential to create a man-made extinction that would eliminate all life on Earth, both plant and animal life. And it is a war driven by the climate-change scam and scientific fraud.

Natural processes have depleted, and are continuing to deplete, the CO2 content of the atmosphere. What was a very CO2-fertile atmosphere during the dinosaur era (2,500 ppm) has now been reduced to the current level of 420 ppm, which is dangerously close to the survival threshold level for vegetation (150 ppm).

In the mistaken belief of a CO2-induced climate emergency, politicians are squandering billions of dollars to accelerate the natural sequestration of CO2 rather than allowing our CO2 emissions from fossil fuels to decelerate the depletion rate. Although our reserves of fossil fuels (coal, oil. and

2

natural gas) are insufficient to restore an optimum level of CO2 for plant growth, such emissions will, nevertheless, significantly extend the green period of the planet.

Furthermore, fossil fuels are essential in sustaining a modern industrial economy and in enabling mankind to adapt to an ever changing climate.

We must not allow ourselves to become victims of the groupthink (aka "mass formation psychosis") being promoted by the climate-change hucksters and fear mongers. Such mass hysteria will destroy Western Civilization and will permit the establishment of a "New World Order''; a Marxist, Orwellian tyranny,

Politicians must take corrective action now before it is too late, starting with the repeal of the carbon tax and the banning of all carbon-capture and storage facilities.
