Role of water vapor in retaining heat from the sun

Why is the earth the only planet in our solar system that has water?
The importance of water can be explained thus; What if the earth had no water?
There would be no life, no food grown.
If there was no water in any of the oceans, let’s say the oceans were completely void of water.
The side of the earth facing the sun would be hotter than the Sahara Desert. The opposite side would be extremely cold
Conclusion:
Water and water vapour moderate earth's temperature and make life possible.
I estimate that the mass of water plus vapour on earth is about a billion times more mass (in x kg) than atmospheric CO2 that is in ppm.
