In 2024 and on January 1, 2025, Gregory Wrightstone and William Happer and two other CO2 Coalition members personally attacked Douglas Lightfoot, mechanical engineer and Gerald Ratzer, computer scientist for their use of thermodynamics in studies and interpretation of climate science. The attacks were unprovoked and malicious. Their work has been published for years and reviewed by experts around the world without the kind of scorn from the CO2 Coalition. Engineering organizations don’t do what the CO2 Coalition is doing.

The personal attacks against Gerald Ratzer and Douglas Lighfoot are serious, unwarranted, unprofessional and below what is expected. There are many CO2 Coalition members who never do this and are outstanding scientists.
Lightfoot and Ratzer aren’t the only victims of the scorn of the CO2 Coalition leadership. There are others.
These actions are
detrimental to everyone working for use of sound climate science and government related policies.

There is no doubt about measurements of sunlight and infrared radiation at the top of the atmosphere or at Earth’s surface.
Many scientists and engineers have questions of interpretation of what the infrared radiation does between Earth’s surface and the top of the atmosphere. What about the three phases of water not just albedo of clouds, heat transport from surface to upper atmosphere and from the Equator to the Poles?
There are other questionable positions of the CO2 Coalition.

How does this change the surface temperature of the earth?
The correct answer is that any temperature changes are too small to measure.
