Welcome to CDG2024 – the Climate Discussion Group, and its final Newsletter.
The mission of this four-month Climate Discussion Group included:
1) An update on the state of Climate Science.
2) An update of Recommendations for Policymakers.
3) An effort to bring non-alarmist climate scientists together so we can be more effective in fighting man-made climate change alarmists and their public leaders.
As commented by Tom Shula –“This forum has allowed me to gather thoughts on a lot of issues. It’s an open forum for expression, which didn’t exist before. I think it’s a shame input is going to be cut off.”
Well, the small team of organizers – John Shanahan, Terigi Ciccone, and I have other projects to work on. We think this has been a successful four months and has elicited contributions from over twenty countries around the world. In fact, if all text and links are visited there are some 500 pages of current climate material freely accessible from the home page of CDG2024 at allaboutenergy.net
Since the last Newsletter there have been some Summaries added to the website. Here is the Executive Summary. It is just three pages of text. Here is a teaser to encourage you to read the full summary.

By coincidence, in the middle of the collection period for CDG2024, Clintel organized a Climate Conference in Prague. This took place on the 12th and 13th of November and there was much discussion among the presenters about the papers and final Communiqué. The two events had a synergistic effect and complemented each other.
My own paper at the Conference introduced the terms RTC - Radiative Transfer Concept and HTC – Heat Transport Concept. Both are important, but focussing on just one to the exclusion of the other will generate misleading ideas like the “Missing 33°C”. Ned Nikolov whose paper was presented by his co-author Karl Zeller pointed out that their research confirms that it should be a “Missing 90°C”. Both RTC and HTC are needed to understand this dichotomy This is the type of technical detail that the Conference and CDG2024 have aired.
During the last month there have been a few, further contributions and the entries in each of the 13 categories (C1 to C7 and P1 to P6) have entries for December 2024.
With so many entries – there has been an effort to check the entries for typos and broken links. We invite those contributors to surf to their own entries (you can use the Search feature at the top of each page to enter your name). Please check for any problems you see and we will update the documents as needed. We are aware that the 150 pages of the Proceedings of the Clintel Conference have some links that do not work. This problem is beyond the scope of CDG2024 and is being worked on by Jan-Erik Solheim and SCC.
A big “Thank you” to all the contributors. We think the website entries created by CDG2024 are a valuable snapshot of where the climate discussion was at the end of 2024. We hope this will form the basis of further discussion going forward. There are rumours of a CDG2025, which might happen, but in a different format. If you would like to see this happen and feel you can contribute – please let us know with an email to Gerald.ratzer@mcgill.ca
All the best for 2025 –
Gerald, John and Terigi.
