FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Beverly Hills, CA. January 1, 2015 Southern California artist John A. Conroy has announced that he will be unveiling some of his art collections at the upcoming SURTEX 2015 Show at the Javits Center in New York City, May 17 – 19. The series called “COOOL CATS” will be featured prominently at the show. The series consists of Conroy’s most popular Cat Designs – which are whimsical and fun – which will be presented in single print and various dynamic repeat patterns. Having been a successful touring artist on the Arts & Crafts circuit for over 25 years, Conroy has amassed a huge base of collectors throughout the world and has established himself as a leader and forerunner in the Surface Design arenas. He is best known for his straight forward strong, striking graphics, which have an ethnic and iconic look to them and is also known for his own unique personality and style. Throughout his career, Conroy has also won many other awards for his art from various art festivals and competitions throughout the United States (best in category @ California Strawberry Festival, Oxnard, CA, Indian Wells Art Festival, Ca., Tapestry In Talent, San Jose, Ca., Southwest Arts Festival, Indio, Ca., Fiesta De Las Artes, Hermosa Beach, Ca., and many more). Conroy’s designs have also been utilized by Paramount, CBS, ABC, NBC and Universal Studios (from the “Bob Newhart Show” to “Melrose Place” among others). He is also a member of the American Craft Council & featured in the exclusive HANDMADE GALLERIES in Sherman Oaks, CA. About John A. Conroy Currently residing in Los Angeles, CA. Conroy has been married 35 incredible years to actress Clay Bravo and has a 23 year old son, Madison Richard, whose field of study is cinematography and who is also an Actor in L.A. Conroy was raised in Wisconsin. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in art at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Conroy has been employed as a graphic designer by various firms such as the Miami Herald, Village Mews, Camp Beverly Hills and a host of many other independent projects. He started his own independent design firm in Venice Beach, CA in the mid 90’s and has been a self employed Artist since then. Conroy sums it up like this: “Life is too short to be serious all of the time! It is my personal goal and pleasure and a fundamental part of my philosophy that each design I create be playful and fun!
