Tumbarumba Tumbarumba is a picturesque township nestled in the foothills west of the Snowy Mountains. Tumbarumba’s population grew exponentially during the Gold Rush. By 1900, Tumbarumba had established itself as a commercial hub, which was lulled by the advent of World War I. The Snowy Mountains Scheme saw an influx of people to the region and, in the 70s, the timber industry flourished. Today, Tumbarumba offers visitors an an array of things to see and do. Must dos … • For art enthusiasts, indulge your passion at the Tumbarumba Artists on Parade Gallery, which features rotating exhibitions by regional as well as visiting artists.
• Check out the historical displays at the Tumbarumba Museum located at the visitor information centre. The museum gives visitors an insight into the mining, cattle and timber heritage of this township. • For nature lovers, explore Paddy’s River Walk, which is located near Paddy’s River Falls. • Treat your palate to some cool climate wines such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, which Tumbarumba is renowned for.
