SURF STOKE

Surf’s Up surf school first rolled onto Polzeath Beach in 1995, armed with a few foam boards, wetsuits and a whole heap of enthusiasm.

Backed by the Prince’s Youth Business trust, their mission statement was to ‘provide the opportunity to surf for all’, and this ethos remains today. The first customer to join their lessons all those years ago has continued to visit Surf’s Up over the years, now bringing both his children and grandchildren to experience the waves, testament to Surf’s Up wonderful family atmosphere and excellent, friendly instructors. With surfing lessons available every day and for all abilities, you’ll be up and riding in no time.

“To be able to spread the love of surfing through the generations is awesome!” says owner Jane. “We are privileged to be able to live in such an amazing area and always work towards enhancing and giving back where we can. Since 2004, we have run a Boardriders Surf Club for local school children and last year we set up a secondhand surf gear station for donations. These raised £1500 for Wadebridge Foodbank – an example of recycling and fundraising at its best. We’ll be running the surf gear donation station again so head on down to our Surf’s Up decking to check it out and grab a bargain.”
