LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT John Cannon

Greetings and welcome to our new publication, Live Well My wife Phillipa and I started our company over 27 years ago and, together with a very talented team of professionals, we have built over 1,350 homes in southwest Florida’s most prestigious gated and waterfront communities. We’ve also become the waterfront builder of choice with over 350 custom homes built for clients on the water.

This year has been especially rewarding and we’d like to thank you for our

most recent accolades: - 24 awards presented to John Cannon Homes by The Manatee-Sarasota Home Builders Association at this year’s Parade of Homes and, - 1st place in the prestigious Sarasota Herald-Tribune’s “Best Builder” Readers’ Choice Award for 2015–our 23rd consecutive year

Saying we feel honored is an understatement. This year’s “Best Builder”

award, which represents both Sarasota and Manatee counties, is a tribute to our entire team’s hard work and dedication.

This inaugural issue of Live Well offers a variety of features, including spot-

lights on our models, a special community section (where we’ve been building for 20 years!), a preview of new design trends, on-your-lot construction, and an exclusive, inside look at one very spectacular private residence we’ve built.

I hope you enjoy this intimate look at John Cannon Homes.

Warmest Regards,

John Cannon President and CEO

Realistic renditions of wood will be especially prevalent, as more suppliers employ digital printing to achieve the patina of petrified, aged, or reclaimed wood. Representing the American Dream...naturally. When Country Club East added Seacroft to the existing villages of its gated community, John Cannon Homes added a jewel of its own to Lakewood Ranch’s illustrious crown. Once inside, guests will find that The Kiandra is generous enough for any family’s needs yet comfortable enough to feel like home. The foyer’s lofty ceiling, at over 14 feet, and great arched doorway transitions into a central great room which serves as the focus for all the other rooms such as the lanai, kitchen, dining areas and the hall leading away to more private spaces such as the study, exercise and master suite.

The kitchen’s clean lines flow seamlessly into the graceful curves of the Francois Regent pewter polished hood. Abundant Maple cabinetry, adorned with Shaker narrow-style doors and beaded inset edges provides plentiful storage with thoughtful touches such as Amerock polished chrome hardware and soft-closing dovetail drawers. The island is equipped with an Elkay Clayton stainless steel sink and Moen Align single-handle hi-arc pull down faucet. Complimenting the kitchen’s appearance is a SubZero-Wolf Cabinet Paneled refrigerator flanked by the cooktop hidden pantry. The tranquility continues in the master suite. The capacious master bath and sitting area provide relaxation and renewal. Then, for times when a soothing cascade from the shower’s

The Akarra II Again located in the Vineyards at The Lake Club, John Cannon’s encore to The Akarra features a Tuscan motif for its exterior and a clean, modern farmhouse look for its interior, with plenty of brickwork. The Akarra II was designed with the addition of 41 square feet, becoming 3,399 square feet under air. Balmy shades of yellow, beige and the introduction of cozy greys accented with white and cream combined with Ekko Marfil Ivory porcelain tiles, a rustic Hickory Chocolate wood, and old brick original accents to complete the

Tuscan Farmhouse look. As with any good sequel, The Akarra II echoes the original with the endless lake views, pool, spa, outdoor kitchen and dining area, and sitting area with fire pit that made The Akarra so successful. Yet, The Akarra II has elements all its own. The kitchen is an instant hit with original brick custom-designed hood, wood mantel, and white Carrera marble backsplash set in a Herringbone pattern.
