To assure that learners have the fundamentals of geriatric care early in the fellowship, essential concepts in each of the following will be taught during the first six months of the first year: • Geriatric Syndromes • Geriatric Assessment • Health Promotion & Disease Prevention • Geriatric Psychiatry • Palliative Care • Oral Health Training in educational methods and research will follow, including curriculum design, program evaluation, learner assessment and feedback, and fundamentals of research design and methods.
