HOMEGOING CELEBRATION
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mother Willie Rosy JEAN BEVIL−JACKSON
Saturday, the Twenty−Ninth Day of December In the Year of Our Lord Two−Thousand Eighteen Eleven o’clock in the Morning THE ISLAND OF HOPE CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST 3303 Orange Street, Houston, Texas 77020
BISHOP PRINCE E. W. BRYANT, SR., PASTOR
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. Psalm 121:1
I’m Free Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I've found that peace at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My Life's been full, I savoured much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch, Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.
“May the Work I’ve Done Speak for Me” “WHATSOEVER THY HAND FINDETH TO DO, DO IT WITH THY MIGHT.” — ECCLESIASTES 9:10
W
illie Rosy Jean Bevil−Jackson, was born February 29, 1936, to the union of the late Willie and Isadora Bevil in Jasper, Texas. As a child she was taught divine precepts and given spiritual guidance by her parents. While growing up in Jasper, Texas, and eventually Houston, Texas; she received her
formal educational training in the public schools of those cities. The majority of her training however, was received in the Houston Independent School District, at Jack Yates High School. At an early age, Willie Rosy Jean, became a member of Elder J. M. Bolden at Mt. View Church of God in Christ. At the age of 18, Willie Rosy Jean met and married Ossie Boyd Jackson, and to this union seven children were born; Irish Lanell Jackson, Derwin Boyd Jackson, Marcus Jackson, Hiram Earl Jackson, Gloria Dean Jackson, Tonya Yvette Jackson, and Kimberly Denise Jackson. In 1972, when her family relocated to 3rd Ward area of Houston, Willie Rosy Jean joined Evangelist Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Joe Nelson. In 1989, Willie Rosy Jean joined Williams
Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop R. E. Woodard, Sr. In 1999, she served under Pastor Randall W. Murphy at New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ. She served as a Prayer Warrior and Mother of the New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband Ossie Boyd Jackson; daughter, Irish Lanell Jackson−Moore; and sisters, Jessie Mae Bevil, and Shirley Bevil. She leaves to cherish her memories her three sons, Derwin, Marcus, Hiram Earl Jackson; three daughters, Gloria Jackson−Akeredolu, Tonya Jackson and Kimberly Jackson−Teamer; one brother, Roy (Cordelia) Bevil; one sister, Cloteal Bevil−Malone (Lufkin, Texas); grandchildren, great−grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Yesterday, The Beginning The Historic Timeline of THE NEW JERUSALEM CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST
T
he New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ Family was blessed beyond measure to have Mother Rosy Jean Jackson as the only Church Mother in its 22−year history. Mother Jackson served with distinction and grace. She loved and cared for all the men, women, and children at New Jerusalem. Mother Jackson never mistreated anyone. She supported everyone. She was absolutely an exampled Church Mother. She never sought the position of Church Mother. However, God had it in His divine will that mother Rosy Jean Jackson would be Mother for the entire New Jerusalem congregation. Whether the member was in trouble, afflicted with sickness, depressed, unsaved, impoverished, homeless, irrational, negative, angry, or lost, Mother Jackson was a Mother to everyone. The New Jerusalem Ministry will never be the same because of the matriarchal ministry of Mother Rosy Jean Jackson. Mother Jackson also served on the Board of Trustees at New Jerusalem for nearly 20 years. She was an advocate for holiness and righteous living in the board meetings. Though she stressed the doctrines of holiness in all business meetings, she always spoke with gentles and thoughtful consideration. Her presence on the Board was powerful. Mother Jackson was the founder and coordinator of the New Jerusalem Emergency Care Fund. Yearly, Mother Jackson would coordinate fundraisers to help those who needed financial assistance. Mother Jackson cared deeply for the underprivileged. She always considered others before herself.
Mother Jackson was the founder and coordinator of the New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ Bus Fund. It was Mother Jackson’s desire that the church would acquire a new van. She sponsored programs and raised money for this worthy venture. Mother Jackson was immensely concerned about the comfort and care of all of God’s people. Mother Jackson was the Coordinator of the Prayer Ministry of New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ for nearly 20 years. Mother Jackson began her prayer ministry at New Jerusalem on Tuesday nights at the church. However, due to hurricane destruction, Mother Jackson generously moved the Tuesday night Prayer Meeting to her home. She welcomed the church with open arms. She treated everyone who came through her doors with decency, respect, and love. In addition, over the last five years, Mother Jackson has coordinated the 8:30 a.m. Sunday Morning Prayer Service at New Jerusalem. She was faithful, prepared, and anointed every Sunday morning to minister to the needs of God’s people before the Sunday School hour. In all the programs, anniversaries, and activities sponsored by the ministries of New Jerusalem, Mother Jackson was there — always to lend a hand, give support, provide encouragement, and to show love. And because of Mother Jackson’s remarkable and unselfish love to God’s people, Dr. Murphy has given her the accolade as being “The Most Generous Saint He Has Ever Pastored.” Written by: Pastor Randall W. Murphy
Soon And Very Soon Soon and very soon, We are going to see the King, Soon and very soon, We are going to see the King. Soon and very soon, We are going to see the King, Hallelujah, hallelujah, We are going to see the King. No more crying there, We are going to see the King, No more crying there, Because We are going to see the King. No more crying there, Cause We are going to see the King, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, We are going to see the King. No more dying there, We are going to see the King, No more dying there, Because We are going to see the King. No more dying there, Cause We are going to see the King, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, We are going to see the King. Should there be any rivers we must cross, Should there be any mountains we must climb, God will supply all the strength that we need, Give us grace until we reach the other side. AndraÊ Crouch — 1971

Tribute To Our Mother “YOUR PRICE IS ABOVE RUBIES” Mom, your price is above rubies for all that you have done, For you rose early in the morning to make sure that all was done So many times you sacrificed to make sure we had all that we need, All the while teaching and grooming us so one day we would lead, All the many shy Easter speeches we were reluctant to say, Not knowing it was preparation to become preachers one day. Mom you’ve given us so much that words can’t even express, The life that you lived, and your willingness to always give your best. You loved us unconditionally through the good and the bad, You loved to cook our favorite meals which really made us glad, You were the pillar that stood up under us time and time again, You will greatly be missed mom, but we’ll see you again in glory land If we had 10,000 tongues we couldn’t thank you enough For we will forever be grateful for your teaching and your love We say rest soldier rest for you have kept the faith, Glory is your new home because you finished the race. LOVING CARE FROM,:
YOUR CHILDREN
Tribute To Our Grandmother The life you lived was that of servanthood and reverence to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As our grandmother, you taught us how to live a life of total submission unto God by not only your wise words but also your devoted actions. We are convinced that we would not be the men and women of God that we are today, if it were not for your steadfast prayers for each of us. Grandmother, you were always committed to doing the Lord’s work not matter the circumstances. I want you to know that we watched you work in the Kingdom throughout our entire lives and we are committed to doing the same. Thank you for being a loving God−fearing grandmother who showed us the right way to live. We will surely miss you grandmother, but rest assure we will see you again in the Glory Land! WE LOVE YOU! YOUR GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT−GRANDCHILDREN
