The city of Thanjavur, holds the reminiscence of the three great kingdoms, the Cholas, the Nayakas and the Marathas. This could be seen from their rich and diverse traditions in art and architecture. The proposals for the precinct are

The City is a pioneer in various art forms like, Thanjavur paintings, Pith works, Bell Metal works (like metal plates, bronze images,etc), Carnatic music. Hence creation of a market space for them could not only boost the revenue of the artisans but also bring together patrons from different parts of the world and recognition. The prime aim is to conserve the precinct and to develop the region through employment generation by boosting local arts and crafts, through a unified Heritage corridor, environmental conservation and landscaping. Which thereby promotes holistic and responsible heritage tourism. The city already gains considerable tourist footfalls. Sketching and doodling were always my passtime even before my career in architecture. I would just take out my black ball pen and sketch or doodle whatever that comes to my mind. I find it as the best way to express ourselves. This later developed under the able guidance of eminent artists that made me put forth my conceptual ideas to the canvas. For me, every concept or the idea originate with a sketch. These sketches define my design progress and evolution.
